Main Duties and Responsibilities
Transport Section: Managing Bulawayo and Harare Workshops. Logistics: Managing Delta Freight Business for Sorghum, Lagers and Sparking Beverages Strategic Business units. Overseeing Regional Logistics activities for South Africa and Zambia businesses.
In charge of the National Freight and Logistics department whose mandate is to distribute Delta Beverages products to different distribution Centres (inbound and Outbound) throughout the country and manage the two major Freight workshops responsible for fleet maintenance with a staff complement of 155 people. Management and control of external hire (3PL)
Carrying out all issues pertaining but not limited to:
Business - Freight department strategy planning and staff training.
Responsible for business inbound and outbound strategies.
3PL logistics sourcing and management.
Depot stock level management.
Managing staff productivities and morale
Budget preparation and management for both maintenance and logistics function.
Providing future development plans on fleet and manpower
Prime movers -Fleet comprises of, 6 by 4 trucks and Light motor vehicles
Trailers Semi trailers- Tri-axle trailers, tankers, buses, drawbars, superlinks and interlinks
Fleet composition of Shaman, Volvo, Nissan UDs, Benz Actros and several Light trucks
Vehicle movements - effective routing and scheduling and Tracking.
Repair and maintenance of company vehicles.
3PL engagement and productivity tracking.
Preparation for annual maintenance plans and schedules.
