Significant Accomplishments Northern, VA and Washington, DC Jun 2001 – Jul 2014

Director, Human Resources ECS Federal: Developed and led HR for our programs in five states enabling ECS to acquire smaller contractors and grow from 500 to 1,200 employees and $90-$180 million in revenue. Developed and oversaw compensation, rewards, healthcare, and 401(k) programs. Published policies, practices, and procedures and conducted training to ensure clarity and compliance. Successfully defended three EEOC claims while minimizing legal costs and an ERISA claim related to an acquisition with Service Contract Act (SCA) staff.

Director, Human Resources, Thales North America: Deputy to the VP of U.S. HR and liaison to the Paris headquarters for compensation, performance management, business unit reviews, ethics, compliance, and risk management. Consulted with the Radford Group, now part of AON, risk and human capital, to align U.S. compensation and career paths which was significant in halting a union organizing effort. Successfully navigated OFCCP audits, ensuring compliance across operating units. Established and led Thales Support, Inc. (TSI) as part of our mobility program due to increasing activity in the U.S. by Thales Rail, Naval, and Components Divisions.

Partner and Human Capital Delivery Lead, Esguerra and Edeline Business Partners:

Clinical Trial Information Systems (CTIS): Collaborated with the Founder/CEO, Board Members, and employees to develop a two-year organizational transformation plan. The plan enhanced CTIS' ability to support pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare clients.

France Télécom: Spearheaded the post-acquisition integration of Global One and Equant/SITA’s 10,000 employees across more than 100 countries. Hired and led a five-person team based in four countries, collaborated with country management and functional experts to deliver labor law, compliance, and risk mitigation solutions. One particularly notable achievement was resolving a $3.5 million annual tax liability related to a legacy Swiss INGO employee tax exemption.

MCG Capital Corporation: Supported due diligence of and integrated Kagan Media including their disparate benefits, compensation, and rewards plans, which saved $600k. Conducted MCG’s executive compensation analysis, delivered findings, and recommendations to the Board of Directors. Worked with Heidrick and Struggle to hire MCG’s CFO.

British Embassy: Researched FLSA ‘BELO’ fixed wage laws and analyzed their U.S. wide practices for non-diplomatic staff, leading to a restructuring that resolved pay disparities. Assigned and led a full-time Senior HR Generalist to implement best practices, stabilize payroll, and optimize their ADP system. Hired and managed four Finance and Accounting Interns for a three-month project to reconcile outstanding account payables and prepare tax returns. Personally, hired their U.S. VP of HR and Finance Officer.
