During my hands-on experience in a Pre Primary environment, I had the privilege of working closely with young learners, supporting their social, emotional, and cognitive development. I developed and implemented child-centered activities that encouraged their curiosity and fostered independent learning. In my 13 years teaching practice, I immersed myself in a variety of activities that nurtured the children’s growth across different areas:
• Storytelling and Rhymes: I captivated children’s attention with engaging stories and rhymes, helping build language skills and listening abilities.
• Phonetic Songs: I introduced songs focused on phonics, encouraging the children to recognize sounds and establish a foundation for reading.
• Alphabet and Number Activities: I designed fun, interactive ways to explore letters and numbers, incorporating sensory materials like sandpaper letters.
• Motor Skill Development: Through activities like threading beads, pouring, and sorting, I supported the development of fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration.
• Memory and Concentration Games: I incorporated games and puzzles that challenged memory and attention, encouraging the children to build focus and patience.
• Nature Exploration: I organized simple nature walks and garden time, giving the children opportunities to observe plants, insects, and the environment, nurturing their respect for nature.
• Art and Creativity: Leading art projects with materials like crayons, and paint allowed me to foster the children’s self-expression and creativity.
• Grace and Courtesy Lessons: I modeled polite behaviors, like sharing and turn-taking, which taught social etiquette and helped create a peaceful classroom atmosphere. This experience allowed me to contribute to a nurturing environment where the children could explore, learn, and grow in a holistic way, aligned with the values of the Montessori approach.
