CURRICULUM VITAE

Name: Narciso S. Figueroa León

Specialty: Mechanical Engineer, specializing in Machinery Construction Phone number: 720-***-****

Email: ******************@*****.***

Located in Louisville, Colorado.

I am an experienced mechanical engineer with a vast knowledge of mechanical industries. For the last 16 years I worked at Metal Mechanic Varona Company, Havana, Cuba, a stainless-steel factory and foundry of nearly 700 workers, where I worked as the company's Technical Manager until 2024, when I moved to the USA. Work experience:

A. Work at METAL MECHANIC VARONA COMPANY (2008-2024. Full-time) 2008-2024: TECHNICAL MANAGER

I supervised the execution of all company projects, including the development of mechanical projects and their supervision through fabrication in the company's workshops. Some works included:

• Development and manufacturing of stainless-steel pressure vessels, e.g., cooking kettles, fermenters for agriculture and research facilities, and reactors for the pharmaceutical industry.

• Fabrication of all types of carbon steel structures, such as buildings, roofs, platforms, and bridges.

• Fabrication of horizontal and vertical carbon steel tanks with capacities up to 350 m . Fabrication of tanker on truck up to 20 m .

• Fabrication of equipment for the food industry, such as screw conveyors, belt conveyors, hoppers, and grain mills.

• On-site assembly of stainless-steel piping at the Sagua Electrochemical Plant in 2017

(4 months).

• On-site management of brigades manufacturing and assembling six vertical tanks of up to 340 m for the wastewater treatment plant of the pharmaceutical company LABIOFAM (1 year).

B. INTERNATIONAL WORK

I participated in the discussion of international factory projects and assembling factories in Cuba and other countries:

• 2008-2010: On-site supervisor for the assembly of the Citrus Processing Plant in Villa 14 de Septiembre, Villa Tunari, Bolivia.

• 2012: Visit to China in 2012 to purchase spare parts for Chinese-made amusement park equipment, placed in Cuba.

• 2015: On-site management of brigades assembling fermenters and engineering networks at the LABIOFAM Bio-larvicide Plant in Tanzania (5 months).

• 2018: Projects for Fruit and Vegetable Canning Factories with a capacity of 1000kg/h with Italian partners from Tropical Food Machinery for Cuba factory.

• 2021: Visit to Venezuela to evaluate equipment stored in containers, including feed factory machinery, grain drying plants, storage silos, extrusion plants, and metal structures stored in yards, to be used in the repair of feed factories and the construction of a feed factory in Santiago de Cuba.

• 2022: Visit to Cassava Flour Manufacturing Plants in São Paulo, Brazil, to establish a Cassava Flour Production Line in Cuba as a wheat flour substitute. Skills: I am experienced in repair and maintenance work on mechanical industrial equipment and have experience working in the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, and agricultural industries. I understand detailed projects and schematics from any specialty, such as engineering networks, electricity, hydraulics, civil engineering, and mechanical design. I can work in mechanical workshops, including assembly of structures, mechanical assembly, machine operator, arc welding with flux-coated electrode, and plumbing. I have extensive hands-on experience in preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment in factories, including planned preventive maintenance, planned mechanical interventions to make repairs, and repairs of unforeseen breakdowns. The planned preventive maintenance that I have worked on included scheduled reviews of the equipment systems, like inspections of oil levels; checking vibrations and temperature of subassemblies; checking noise and temperature of bearing, gears, chains, and sprockets; periodic lubrication using greases and oils, etc. Mechanical interventions have ranged from simple to complex repairs, including changing bearings on the main spindle and in the gearboxes of lathes, adjusting belts and pulleys, and repairing the clutch in lathes. I have also repaired hand tools, changed carbon brushes and bearings on grinding machines and electric drills, and adjusted pneumatic tools, among other repairs. While most of my professional life has included engineering positions, I have vast experience in mechanical systems that I have cultivated in my personal life. Since 1997, I have owned a Classic 1959 Buick Electra that I keep working on despite the lack of spare parts. My car, originally powered with gas and automatic transmission, now houses a diesel engine, speed box, and differential from a stick-shift Aro pick-up truck from 1985. The starter motor originally belonged to a Yumz Russian tractor. I have made two general repairs to the diesel motor, the starter motor, and the gearbox by myself. I remade the brake systems from cast iron discs, and I could name a long list of modifications I have made over the years. Of the original Buick, only the body remains, which I have also personally repaired by replacing the rusty parts. I am skilled in welding and repairing using manual tools across a broad spectrum of mechanical equipment. I have meticulous attention to detail, a commitment to quality workmanship, and an extensive knowledge of mechanical systems. While my primary language is Spanish, I have a solid foundation in English, which I use effectively in technical environments. I have limitations in colloquial and fast conversations, however, I can accurately write reports and closing comments and comprehend and execute complex technical instructions.

Sincerely,

Narciso S. Figueroa León
