Grab red/blue bloodlines connect to machine, hang my saline bag pull out my needle pack making sure it's the right needle size, gauze, alcohol,tape,2 blue clamps, and if patient needs blood work make sure they are they right labels for that patient,at this time I'm I'm getting heparin, lidocaine, for patients that need it,I go get my patient weight my patient get temperature, blood pressure, sitting and a standing I'm putting all of this information in the system so the machine can go with what the body needs because of the fluids that's on that patient. Once patient is comfortable in their chair we observe the site rather it's in the leg, arm, or the patient may have a catheter. So on the patient's that gets challenged sometimes with the fluids on their lungs the machine pushes to get that number in extra fluid off of them so they can breathe better because they can go out on you I've seen it too many times but u call for your team and they right there helping hands, but we have to turn off machine grab oxygen tank lay the chair all the way back, start rubbing chest area, give normal saline cold compress . talking to my pt.the whole time being worked on it was a challenging but worth it...
