My goals in life are to improve the quality of life of our communities and to make our environment safe in our own homes and neighborhoods reaching outwards to our country and beyond. To cure cancer, especially the kind we carry around everyday that at times drip and other times spew out of our mouths and bodies. To bring to this world a sense of peace, humility, and love from a smile, a glance, a kind gesture or message. To give our children, our future, and all of us a sense of belonging no matter who, what, or where we are. To be advocates for society when they are sometimes just trying to survive with basic needs. To leave a little piece of me everywhere I go.

EDUCATION

Master's degree in 1996 - Nova Southeastern University - Speech Language Pathology 2014-2016 Owner/Private Practice: "Speech Services of Northern Michigan", Prudenville, MI Speech therapy services. Medicare/Medicaid billing, EMR, marketing, business operations. Diagnostics and treatment in all aspects of communication, voice, cognition, and swallowing serving infant, pediatric to geriatric-aged individuals in an acute care inpatient, outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facility and school settings.

Provide communication, counseling and report writing skills provided to physicians, nurses, discharge planners, dieticians, patients and their families whether in acute care, victims of cancer, stoke or degenerative diseases as well as family education planning during outpatient treatment or Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings in school settings as well as to families of adult and geriatric patients in rehabilitation or nursing centers. Bachelor's of Science 1993 - Nova Southeastern University - Community Psychology.

"The Listener Program" where non-authoritative adult mentors "at-risk" school-age children in public school settings. During my time as part of the program, I gave my "listening" heart to these children, our future, hoping to leave an impact, a sense of security, and a longing for forming relationships with their peers and communities. This was much more than just a psychology program for me. At times, no verbal speech was exchanged. A smile, a gesture, a simple game of "hang-man" spelling out a phrase "I like you" helped me understand I made a difference in one boy's life.
