The original operational concept was to specialize in supporting operations from “Stockroom to Shipping Dock.” Following the timely and successful completion of the contractual work orders. The company was involuntarily inactive for a short period due to COVID-19, and subsequently reinvigorated immediately thereafter.
Reason for Leaving: A temporary experiment with possible retirement.

A reasonably high frequency of temporary technical assignments, of varying duration and based on my industrial engineering and manufacturing management background. These projects consisted of the following: logistics, supply chain issues, Quality Assurance-based corrective/preventive action planning and implementation, manufacturing product flow, ISO-9001application and compliance issues, product delivery problems, product line conversion, design for model to line manufacturing, discovery/correction of manufacturing-induced defects, indented bill of materials redesign and rewrite, updates, corrections and supporting documentation.
Reason for Leaving: The local office revenues reversed, Kearney Mesa offices subsequently closed.

ISO Operations Manager - Manufacturer of electronic, electro-magnetic, & thermal sensors/detectors for commercial, automotive and military use. Started initially as Sr. Industrial Engineer on an outside contractor basis. Later hired-on directly and received two (2) promotions: Industrial Engineering Supervisor and subsequently ISO Operations Manager.
Created, developed and implemented the change over from individual batch manual lead salt application for sensors to a multiple batch/lot application system with greater product operational stability and substantial drop in field failures.

I “inherited” eleven (11) direct-reports, then performance-selected down to seven (7) with a manufacturing line census that varied from approximately one hundred ninety seven (197) to two hundred twenty five (225) employees. An automotive parts manufacturer with facilities in the United States, Canada & Mexico, I served as 1st line back-up (assist) for the aluminum, two-piece/alloy facility in Queretaro, Qto., Mexico. I was a “direct report” to the Vice President, Steel Division. My overall function: overall business unit responsibility: P&L, manufacturing, operations, personnel and cross-border Human Resource issues, supply-chain logistics, corporate compliance to Mexican Law, etc.
Responsible for plant in Mexicali, Baja California, a turn-around, as General Manager and Legal Representative in Mexico.

IBM-DiscoVision, Carson, CA Jul/1976 to Sep/1985
Sr. Industrial Engineer – Lead Industrial Engineer/Area Support Manager for three (3) manufacturing shifts of what was to become the prototype for the CD/DVD. This aluminum vacuum-deposited disk was already in mass production when the partnership (IBM/DiscoVision) announced its sale to Matsushita (Panasonic) in 1980, completed in 1981. I stayed on until 1985.
Reason for leaving: I moved to DDC Pertec as Industrial Engineering Manager.
