This position serves as the principal assistant to the Executive Deputy Director of the Division of Parole and Probation (DPP). The main purpose of this position is to manage, organize, direct, supervise and coordinate the completion of administrative functions related to recruitment and hiring responsibilities for the Office of the Director. This position must have a working knowledge of state rules and regulations pertaining to human resources, training, as well as Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) PSCS administrative policies, directives and procedures. Also, this position serves as liaison between the Director and the operating units, regional administrators of DPP field offices, the DPSCS Executive team, and partner agencies that interact with the Office of the Director.

My job consists of creating, approving, reviewing, routing, initiating Job Requisition for Skilled and Professional Service, Special Appointments and Management Services in JobAps; reviews & approves contractual, recruitment requests in JobAps received from DPSCS operating agencies who are requesting the creation of new eligible list. Determine whether recruitment is necessary by analyzing factors, such as whether or not an eligible list already exists, how old a list might be, and whether a sufficient pool of applicants remains on the list. If recruitment is necessary, determines which specific recruitment, test development and/or test administration activities are to be performed, and what assistance might be necessary from the Department of Budget & Management (DBM). Initiates recruitment activities for approved projects; prepares recruitment planner and job bulletin in JobAps and submits to DBM for approval.
