OBJECTIVE

PRIOR EXPERIENCE

Fairfax County Govt: Revenue Collection Division (DTA) - Collections Specialist March 2023-current

Coordinate with several internal agencies to collect delinquent county taxes. Assess, adjust, and update tax records, audits, and reconcile tax accounts & accounts with collection agency Nationwide Credit Corporation.

Cold-call hundreds of taxpayers & clients weekly to collect outstanding dues for taxes, parking tickets, and various other delinquent debts across more than a dozen Fairfax Co. agencies to increase government revenue.

Maintain strong relationships with clients by authorizing payment plans for over 3,000 delinquent accounts, leading to successful debt recovery of over $1.5 million.

Process hundreds of invoices weekly regarding personal property/real estate taxes, parking tickets, and all other county-related streams of revenue [Set-Off Debt (SOD), SACC, Family Services, Health/Human services, etc.].

Efficiently process cash payments of real estate/personal property tax, parking tickets, etc. (cashiering).

Resolve chargeback (fraudulent) disputes made by clients by reviewing credit card/bank statements, payment invoices & Accounts Receivable history to locate payments & deliver a conclusion if refunds are to be processed.

Manage business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) collections, ensuring timely payments through proactive outreach, dispute resolution, and strategic account management.

Oversee administration of bank & wage liens/garnishments with collection agency NCC for delinquent accounts.

Research and resolve SOD/VA State Tax-Return disputes in the delinquent tracking system to perform complex weekly tax reconciliation reports with Nationwide Credit Corporation (NCC) collection agency.

Locate accounts to apply unidentified/unapplied payments made via cash/check or sent via our 3rd party vendors.

Approve or deny waiver requests made by clients regarding late-fees/delinquent status on a case-by-case basis.

Fairfax County: Dept. Tax Administration - Personal Property/Business Division - Admin Asst Jan 2022-March 2023

Assisted thousands of irate taxpayers via phone & in-person (tax-counter) regarding their personal property tax and Real Estate tax account status, outstanding balances due, property valuation, and other tax-related inquiries.

Maintained sensitive production records regarding vehicle tax assessment; updated these records and accounts with VA State and county-tax auditing & compliance departments for senior management to approve and file.
