As we continue to grow and expand, my role has evolved to become more of a general business development position in addition to my previous R&D marketing responsibilities. Oneonta Bombers d/b/a Bombers Burrito Bar, Oneonta, NY 2014 – 2020 Developed business plan and obtained all funding (bank loans and multiple city and state grants) necessary to open restaurant. Handled all zoning, permitting and equipment purchase tasks and regularly met with SBDC, the Mayor and various city and local business development entities. TransTech Systems, Inc., Schenectady, NY 2001 – 2013 Coordinated, facilitated and managed activities to initiate and complete R&D marketing projects such as bidding and proposal development, relationship building and sustainment, new project investigation, editing, data analysis, graphic presentation, and report preparation. Responsible for the timely collection, collation, analysis and distribution of research data in order to gain and sustain a competitive edge in the civil/military infrastructure and biomedical R&D marketplace. Located various funding sources and secure funded R&D projects/contracts through the generation and articulation of technologically sound proposals to meet necessary deadlines. Responsible for obtaining approximately
$2.84M in Federal funding, $1.75M in NYS funding and $375K in private funding. Attended various conferences, seminars, technical workshops, etc., in order to represent TransTech’s R&D interests. Schenectady County Material Recovery Facility (MRF), Rotterdam, NY 1992 - 2000 Managed daily operations and all aspects of domestic and international marketing. Supervised and delegated responsibilities to County staff as well as 10-35 DSS, Parole, TANF and ATI workers on a daily basis. Responsible for maximizing efficiency, productivity and quality control. Negotiated business deals and contracts for special projects. Thoroughly researched markets and MRF’s competitive position and set monthly prices for purchase and sale of all recyclables. Designed and utilized spreadsheets and databases for modeling and tracking production and revenues. Developed Facility Budget (approximately $0.5M annually) and Annual Plan of Operations and monitored expenditures and progress. Schenectady County Soil & Water Conservation District, Glenville, NY 1991 - 1992 Researched and authored grant proposals for recycling, water quality, GIS, and other special projects, successfully obtaining, in particular, $475,000 towards construction and purchase of the new Schenectady County MRF structure and associated machinery and equipment. Coordinated development review with municipal and county planning agencies, including briefing boards on the District’s many development review capabilities and resources. Spearheaded the formation of the Schenectady County Water Quality Committee and served as first chairman. Provided computer support and training for District operations and programming, and staff support for Manager and District Board.
