Research Topic: Cancer effects of drinking water exposures to per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in Pennsylvania for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Protocol: Human health effects of drinking water exposures to per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS): A multi- site cross-sectional study Protocol, IRB #27792.
• Conducted comprehensive research on the health effects of PFAS-contaminated drinking water in Pennsylvania, focusing on cancer prevalence among adult first-degree relatives and spouse pairs.
• Analyzed data by using SAS statistical analysis from the CDC Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, to identify patterns in cancer prevalence linked to PFAS exposure.
• Worked with large datasets in SAS, extracting key variables such as duration of residence in PFAS-polluted areas, water filtration use, and self-reported health outcomes such as cancer.
• Assisted in raising public awareness of PFAS-related health risks and contributed to ongoing health intervention strategies in affected communities.
