Responsible for managing Renal Division process improvement requests and funding from sourced Baxter plants across the globe. Reviewed cost data from plants wanting to improve operating costs through manufacturing improvements. Reviewed cost justifications from plants for improvements and determined if projects were justifiable to have approved. Some project requests required visiting the plants and working with engineer(s) or engineering manager(s) to modify/change requests based on my manufacturing experience as a project engineer and maintenance manager. Once agreed upon plant justifications and/or agreed upon modifications were made, my role was to schedule and present funding justification to senior management for funding approval. Additional responsibilities were to initiate cost reduction projects to the plants to lower overall division manufacturing costs.

Project Engineer
Responsible for implementing projects within Baxter manufacturing plants
• Manufacturing lead for project to consolidate solutions IV bags and tubing kits sourced at different sites to be manufactured at one Baxter plant. Responsible for benchmarking costs from two to the largest Baxter plants and capturing all aspects of costs to determine new potential cost.
• Implemented TPM across the Jacksonville facility, training operators and maintenance on TPM principles, covering over 90% of the plant.
• Improved Suction Canister Lid automation machine that assembled and tested over 30 manufacturing steps before boxing and shipping to warehouse.
o The rate of 750 canister/hour reduced rejects by over 25% through equipment and operator improvements from TPM
o Transferred Tubing Line from Puerto Rico to Jacksonville facility. Trained operators to operate line and trained maintenance to service equipment. Fuchs Plant/Project Spice Company Engineer – Baltimore, Maryland October 1988 – October 1990
Responsible for all aspects of plant engineering and maintenance support. Direct reports included 35 technicians, three staff positions, and an industrial engineer.
• Installed new Old Bay spice line and trained operators and maintenance staff to operate and maintain equipment.
• Installed new Black Pepper Mill and managed costs to stay in budget based on previous engineer cost allocation.
