• The Role of chromosomal aberrations in couples with infertility

Conducted a retrospective analysis focusing on constitutional chromosomal aberrations contributing to infertility and repeated miscarriage in a cohort of 2000 couples of Indian ethnicities.

Utilized conventional G-band karyotyping analysis on phytohemagglutinin-stimulated peripheral blood lymphocytes, cultured in RPMI1640 medium, achieving 500–550 band resolution for comprehensive chromosomal enumeration.

Detected chromosomal aberrations in 110 (2.78%) couples, revealing structural chromosomal anomalies in 88 cases. Notable findings included reciprocal translocations (56 cases), Robertsonian translocations (16 cases), inversions (eight cases), deletions (three cases), derivative chromosomes (five cases), and numerical chromosome aberrations (23 cases).

Emphasized the clinical relevance of chromosomal aberrations in reproductive failure, highlighting potential genotypic and phenotypic manifestations in the progeny during gametogenesis. HONORS & AWARDS / TRAINING & CERTIFICATION
