Experience
Knowledge of OSHA 1910 & 1926 – utilize this information to access specific job activities for safe work assessments. Work with management and safety department to create specific safety programs as needed to ensure the safety of employees. Confirm compliance with OSHA rules and regulations.
Maintain records of inspections of all safety equipment, including but not limited to fall protection equipment, fire extinguishers, and all other safety equipment.
Conduct safety meetings with all employees to provide regular job site training and bring up awareness of trends in industries. Utilize BEHAVIOR BASED SAFETY training to improve the safety culture.
Maintain safety records of incident investigations (near misses, first aids recordable & loss time incidents) also keep track on OSHA 300 Log and ISNet World record keeping experience.
Conduct field audits of crews working, observe and document the utilization of good body kinetics and procedures. Evaluation of all required documentation – JSA, Permits, Equipment Inspection & SOP documents.
Maintain inventory of all PPE and consumables. Ensure good condition and expiration dates, as well as quarterly inspection of all fall arrest harnesses, as well as individual employee’s training and dates of expiration.
Write and implement site specific programs to ensure the safety of all employee’s and compliance with management and contract requirements.
To coach each and every employee to make safety personal to them. Work to develop a coaching safety culture that employees can take ownership to reduce the number of incidents on the job site.
Experience and training in Demolition safety.
Knowledge of preparing the workplace for COVID-19 and other contagious viruses. Knowledge of developing COVID prevention programs for the work environments.
Working with safety requirements for Non-Destructive Testing including Radiation Safety Programs.
Ability to identify and address with input from Human Resource any issues of substance abuse on the job site and suggest proper intervention.
Conduct training on fall arrest systems, the inspection and maintenance of required equipment.
Develop and implement a positive safety culture.
Write incident reports on near misses, first aids, safety violations and any other necessary reports.
Provide first aid care and case management for minor incidents.
Participate in Internal Audits, Field Audits and Safety Notices.
Review and modify safety policies as required and initiate an incentive program for the improvement of the safety culture. Work with other site safety personnel and project management to enforce policies through training, enforcement and discipline.
Investigate all incidents and near misses, prepare reports detailing causes and remedies with management and safety department.
Daily job site visits to assist project managers, general foremen, or site supervision in identifying and abating exposures to employees. Accurate records of these visits to be kept with hazards and abatement notes.
Performing various negative exposure assessments to include noise monitoring, heat or cold stress and employee health monitoring.
Heat stress monitoring using digital thermometer. Monitor local weather sites for any upcoming hazardous weather conditions, ie: rain, lightening, hail or excess heat etc.
Personal monitoring for hazardous air conditions; Cadmium, H2S, harmful O2 conditions.
Mercury monitoring using mercury vapor analyzers. Personal sampling using BDX II pumps, passive personal samplers using diffusion samplers.
Monitor and track radiation exposures of employees doing field x-ray.
Safety Attendant
Work outside of confined spaces and was responsible for monitoring and protecting the workers entering
the confined space and informing rescue team, if required, while assigned to jobs inside oil and gas refineries or
petrochemical plants. I also served and a hazard watch, watching for specific hazards as it related to the task at hand and
assisted the safety representative in observation and documentation of hazards for specific crafts. Reviewed JSA’s so that I
could get a picture of the tasks they were preforming and the safeguards that they had put in place. Shadowing the safety
tech in order to learn. It was considered on the job training to become a safety technician or representative after obtaining
my NCCER 100-hour certifications.
Safety Representative
I tracked and documented accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents. Perform inspections and audit facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
Site Safety Lead
In addition to the duties of a safety representative I was also responsible for the over site of the other safety technicians including scheduling and timesheets. Also update safety technicians on job tasks for the day or high risk situations that were scheduled like critical lifts or long x-ray shots.
Safety Manager
Worked to prevent workplace accidents and promote health and safety awareness as will as education of fellow employees. Responsible for making sure that employees follow health and safety laws and creating policies and procedures for a safer work environment. I was also responsible for conduction root cause investigation and reporting those findings to my superiors in addition to the client. I was responsible for all case management to include incident reporting and classification. Maintaining OSHA logs and reporting as well maintaining ISNet World recordings.
Health & Safety Manager
Directed, developed and oversee the general health and safety policies and procedures of the organization. Ensure that the workplace (to include all job sites) was in compliance with OSHA, state, local and industry specific regulations and that periodic safety audits were conducted, those audit results were shared companywide with and clients.
