DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

POST CONTRACT DUTIES:

• Implement value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs without compromising quality, ensuring cost-effective solutions throughout the project.

• Monitor and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, both for the company and subcontractors, to avoid any disputes and ensure smooth project execution.

• Collaborate with legal and contract teams to assess contractual risks, manage claims, and ensure contractual terms are clear and enforceable.

• Provide commercial input to project managers, assisting in high-level decisions that affect project profitability, resource allocation, and scheduling.

• Track subcontractor performance to ensure they are delivering in line with the contract terms and project schedules, addressing any non compliance or delays promptly.

• Submit interim payment applications through PWA's APMS system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Evaluate cost-benefit analyses for new proposals and project adjustments, providing recommendations that align with overall project objectives and budget.

• Identify variations from site instructions, prepare Variation Orders (VOs), and negotiate with consultants.

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that optimize cost savings while maintaining quality and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.

• Work closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate cost tracking, invoicing, and payments, ensuring alignment with project budgets.

• Offer ongoing commercial guidance and support to project teams, helping resolve any commercial challenges and ensuring optimal decision-making.

• Prepare and submit insurance claims with required details and documentation.

Check and prepare materials on-site for inclusion in monthly payment applications.

• Track project costs and address any discrepancies to keep within budget.

• Compare tendered and actual costs to identify and justify variations.

• Develop rates for new items and conduct price analysis for comparison with the original BOQ.

• Participate in management meetings and conduct site visits to assess project progress.

PRE CONTRACT DUTIES:

• Prepared comprehensive tender documents, including the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and accurate quantity take-offs, ensuring alignment with project specifications and requirements.

• Reviewed tender drawings and thoroughly checked the quantities and BOQ provided by clients and consultants to ensure consistency and accuracy.

• Identified and raised tender queries and clarifications with the consultant, ensuring all project details were clear and well-defined before proceeding.
