Oversee a department of 19 technicians, two maintenance supervisors and a maintenance parts coordinator.
Responsible for maintaining the facility and grounds including all general utilities and process equipment.
o This includes building exterior such as snow removal and lawn care as well as the building itself
o Oversee maintenance of 2 ammonia refrigeration systems and the PSM requirements for those systems. (36,000 #’s & 9,000 #’s)
o Oversee upgrades including both mechanical and electrical of the production floor and buildings.
Oversee a capital expenditure budget of $250,000 in addition to the annual maintenance repair and maintenance budget of ~$2,000,000.
Projects have included conversion of conversion of previous holding freezer space to two automated packaging lines utilizing 2 baggers, 2 servo driven case packers and a Fanuc robotic palletizer.

TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, BARILLA AMERICAS
Managed an annual capital expenditure budget of $4.5 million which included equipment replacement and upgrades as well as building maintenance.
Oversaw the automation department which is responsible for maintaining and supporting all automation/PLC’s throughout the plant in Ames.
Responsible for the maintenance and expansion of the electrical distribution system throughout the Ames facility.
Developed and managed numerous projects both large and small with the team in Ames as well as part of the Italian engineering team.
o Managed a 71,000 sq ft building expansion and production expansion valued at $54M.
Included necessary utility increases (710 ton chiller and cooling tower, 2500kVA electrical 2
switchgear, AHU’s)
Included 2 production lines and 6 packaging lines
Developed and managed a 16,000 metric ton wheat storage addition and rail yard revamping valued at $9M.
o Included 6 steel hopper bottom bins and supporting conveyors and automation. o Revamped the rail yard to allow 110 car unit trains to be staged and unloaded in a 24 hour period.
Managed the conversion of warehouse space to a Gluten Free Pasta production space valued at
$28M
o Included 2 production lines, 2 packaging lines as well as the unloading, storage and mixing systems needed for the raw materials.
Developed and managed numerous equipment replacement/upgrade projects ranging from $500k to $1.5M. 1998 - 2011

Highlights:
o Was a Global Team Member of the companies transition from multiple software’s to SAP in 2009. I acted as the liaison between Financial and Maintenance as well as just the maintenance side.
o In 2004 the maintenance department was moved from MP2 to JD Edwards, led this process
o Was a team member of “Made In Barilla” which was a global effort by Barilla to gather all of the best practices throughout the company at various sites and countries and apply them across the company. Continuous Improvement, Lean and 5S were core activities of this.
o In 2004 – 2006 a new Barilla Plant was built in Avon, NY. I spent a lot of time there assisting with the project management and prior to operation, training maintenance technicians.
