OPERATIONS MANAGER

Responsible for the daily operations of Brea Machining and distribution plant meeting daily schedules and seeing to it that all equipment was always kept in operating condition. Reported directly to the offsite VP of Operations regarding the yearly production and financial targets/goals set by the CEO. Trained and supported all operation managers within the North American facilities on SAP operating systems. Worked closely with the quality assurance manager/safety manager to ensure all quality and safety standards were upheld, and to improve on new processes and standards. Worked with inside/outside representatives to facilitate new and existing sales, and additional contracts through operation support, customer audits, and ISO9001 quality standards.

• Through the use of Kaizan event, the entire workflow was streamlined to simplify, and ease finished goods movement to the shipping area, and left-over product movement back into stock to contain an out-of-control inventory.

• The lead time for shipping product was brought from 5 days down to 1-2 days depending on plate size required.

• Conducted weekly and monthly group training and Safety meetings to ensure the employees never become complacent when it came to safety.

• The plant is now at 2368 days (6 years) since the last lost time injury.

• After many improvement initiatives the benchmark rate of “Square Inches Cut Per Man-Hour” went from 33” to 60”, an 81% increase.

• Reduced customer claims from 84 in 2012 to just 5 in 2018.
