Senior Accountant at Cleveland Clinic responsible for calculating and posting myriad daily transaction in the general ledger for offline systems on a daily basis and at month end, maintain support schedules for all balance sheet accounts, reconcile all balance sheet accounts to the general ledger, investigate and post corrections as needed, close the month and issue monthly financial statements along with financial statement analysis on a monthly basis.

CFO, Crossover Mission, Inc. Crossover Mission is a nonprofit that provides academic mentoring and basketball training to at-risk youth from the age of 8 until 22. The athletics program is designed to motivate students academically through basketball to improve their chances of leading a productive and satisfying life. Every child helped has a positive impact on their circle of family and friends and has the potential to help future generations of that same circle. I’ve helped the organization take the quantum leap from $400 thousand in annual receipts to $2.1 million in annual receipts – building the financial structure to sustain them in this new growth phase.

Controller, Indrio Brands, LLC, a gift fruit and order fulfillment company in a hands-on capacity that gave me the opportunity to transform the finance policies and practices from that appropriate for a much smaller company to policies and practices that will support the company’s growth objectives and optimize the resources in place.

January 2017 to October 2018

Senior Financial Analyst and Accountant at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital. I designed, implemented and documented a new methodology for bank reconciliations, completed the tax return drafts for the hospital and related entities, designed a lease tracking and reconciliation tool, implemented and updated investment tracking, transaction posting and participated in the financial year end and audit process. I developed many tools and methodologies with Excel and carefully documented the tools to ensure a path forward for these functions.

June 2015 to October 2016

CFO, Profold, Inc. Manufacturer of secure document folding and inserting equipment. Contract Management including ensuring that all services outside the contract were properly tracked, documented and billed to the client, established accurate financial reporting, evolved the MIS to the next level in terms of inventory tracking and established a basis for activity-based budgeting and costing. The company needed to downsize for a transition to a machine shop operation.

Rebuilt Accounting Department from the ground up. Used weekly staff meeting for group projects and to share information to promote team work and avoid duplication of effort.

Eleven years management information system sales, installation and support in Florida. Most of my clients were manufacturers or contractors with challenging costing and payroll reporting requirements.

Operations auditor for a major pharmaceutical in New Jersey where I gained invaluable experience with Current Good Manufacturing Practices. They offered me an opportunity in Florida as Manager of Manufacturing for a sister agricultural chemical company where I implemented a computer-based costing system.

Auditor with Deloitte Haskins and Sells in Hackensack, New Jersey where I helped to conduct financial audits of publicly traded companies. We used regression models in the analytic review portion of our audits.

Education: Graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1984. Financial Executives Institute Award 1984. Passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam the first time I sat.
