Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Chairman of Business and Public Administration responsible for ensuring that students afford a unique opportunity to participate in a learning that goes beyond the traditions of a sharply circumscribed students to be able to earn as they learn through such instructional modes as internships, seminars, life experiences, independent study, and regular classes that I offered to them during the morning, evenings, online and on weekends. Under the supervision of the controller, maintain current accurate records by daily recording of all relevant transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and prepare reports as required of payroll information received for processing, as well as other fiscal duties including bookkeeping and filing Tax Reports.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Reconcile all bank accounts on a monthly basis

Prepare and record general journal entries as necessary

Record all cash transactions from Cashier’s Office

Review Accounts Payable Transactions an report for any inconsistencies

Review Investment Report and prepare the necessary accounting entries.

Prepare monthly Investments Reports

Prepare month-end close for each monthly Accounting Cycle

Assist the Comptroller in preparing monthly reports

Prepare Budget Expenditure Reports for each department of the university

Keep an accurate record of all grant activities and report on monthly basis.

Report all irregularities to the comptroller and vice president for fiscal affairs.

Work closely with personnel to ensure that all relevant employee data are entered into the system accurately, and on time.

Work with department heads to ensure that time sheets are submitted accurately and on time.

Ascertain that overtime requests are proper and submitted for appropriate approval on time.

Ascertain that payroll and fringe benefits charges are distributed and charged to the proper departments in a timely manner.

Ensures that payroll charges are properly distributed on the Subsidiary Ledger to facilitate preparation of reports to Cost Centers

Responsible for providing data processing with the proper document to process payroll and for reviewing payroll once it has been completed.

Works with comptroller to ensure that checks are distribute in accordance with proper internal control procedures.

Responsible for maintaining accurate payroll records needed to verify payroll disbursements

Responsible for maintaining payroll and history file for each employee.
