About me-I was born and raised in East Texas, where after working for a few fabrication shops, I proceeded to enlist in the US NAVY, where I worked as a HULL TECHNICIAN (performing welding and maintenance), and as a Navy SEAL and reached the rank of E5 upon receiving a honorable discharge. I’m a highly energetic person with ambitious learning skills. Detailed listener and Very attentive to small minute details and able to be Responsive and adaptable to problem solving situations. Very dependable for work and showing up for work and assigned tasks. I have 40 yrs of experience between welding, inspection, and engineering problem solving. Knowledgeable of all welding techniques and NDT related processes.

Skills- 17 years as a certified welder in SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW in 3g, 4g, & 6g for carbon, stainless, and Aluminum, involving structural steel, pipe, and nuclear welding while working in the U.S. NAVY, and various fabrication shops in Texas and California.

PROJECTS MANAGED &INSPECTED -Richmond/San Rafael Bridge seismic upgrade,-oversaw the qualification and testing of over 30 welders per CalTrans specifications, also performed the PQR weld testing and qualification for the projects 10 & 12 ft diameter piles.
WALNUT CREEK PROJECT - Performed Inspection and MT testing for the 72” water delivery pipeline, lead inspector overseeing production and coordination of pipeline project, prior to pipeline explosion which resulted in 2 fatalities.
580/80 SEISMIC UPGRADE - Performed welding inspection per CalTrans DOT specifications on 30” diameter piles for retrofitting column support bases for seismic activity.
Arrow Signs @ Marina Blvd SanLeandro-oversaw the construction and installation of a new 30 ft LED sign for the San Leandro AutoMall advertising.
Mowry OverCrossing- Performed the inspection for the in field fabrication and welding of the new railroad bridge per CalTrans specs for BNSF railways.
SAN RAMON ISD- lead inspector for construction, and fabrication of solar panel installation for 5 schools in the San Ramon school district, overseeing the welding, bolting, and grouting testing and sampling for 4 high schools and a middle school.
SAS-SFOBB- Performed evaluation and measurements for the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge OBG sections coming from China, under a separate CalTrans contract, also performed inspection and NDT( MT) testing of BAY BRIDGE OBG Sections and Tower, providing daily reports to the chief engineer.
COMMON WEALTH PROJECT - Lead Inspector for project overseeing the welding and NDT testing(UT-MT) of structural steel columns and beams( moment connections) also oversaw direction and supervision of fellow inspectors for other areas of testing and collection of samples also maintained project budget overseeing cost and budget.
LOCKHEED MARTIN- bldg 156,152 oversaw production and fabrication of various top secret projects..
CHEVRON REFINERY- Performed welding inspection and NDT testing on piping systems and structural steel, during Chevrons 2015 major shutdown performing inspections per ASME, AWS CODES, and local jurisdiction of the City of Richmond.
Hwy 1 @ MENDOCINO COUNTY -Oversaw the Production welding and installation of H piles per CALTRANS specifications, and welder qualification for the highway retaining wall along the Pacific Ocean for highway 1.
San Francisco International Airport Terminal 1- Performed visual and NDT(UT-MT) inspection in various shop and field locations (Stockton, Fowler, San Francisco) for numerous portions of the project including mechanical conveyors, structural columns,(crucible columns), and material identification for the project.
EMPLOYMENT- US NAVY 1992-2000, As a HULL TECHNICIAN where I performed repairs and maintenance on numerous other Naval ships while either in port or underway, doing various structural repairs, performing pipe systems repairs either brazing or welding, to welding nuclear systems, and removing 5” gun mounts or removing various hydraulic and electrical motors thru large holes cut in sides of ship and rewelding using a very strict tolerance program. Honorable discharge as E-5, and Obtained a CLASSIFIED CLEARANCE.
Technical Fabrication- ’96, Performed welding on sheet and structural steel projects for CalTrans, AME ambulance.
Jifco Pipe Fabricators ’96-’01, Fabrication and welding of pipe ranging from 4” to 115” diameter for various water and oil/gas companies, on carbon and stainless steel using welding processes of SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW.
