Practical construction professional, with more than 23 years of hands-on experience in handling of Project coordination and management. construction management, electrical & Instrumentation and the installation and processes of its associated systems in Refinery, Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industry, having considerable exposure to working in a multi-cultural environment.

Project Engineer,

Plays a pivotal role in the successful execution of the projects, ensuring that instrumentation and communication systems meet the contractual terms, design, safety, and operational standards. The responsibilities encompass technical document review, project progress follow-up, project management, and coordination across various disciplines, as well as material inspection. Below are the key duties and expectations for this role:

Technical Document Review, Comment, and Approval:

oResponsible for reviewing technical documents, drawings, and specifications related to instrumentation and control systems.

oEnsure compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and project requirements.

oProvide timely feedback, comments, and necessary corrections to ensure documents are accurate and aligned with project goals.

oCollaborate with engineering and design teams to approve documents for further stages of the project.

Follow-up on Project Progress:

oMonitor project milestones and progress related to instrumentation and communication deliverables.

oCoordinate with the project management team to ensure timely completion of tasks according to the project schedule.

oAddress potential delays and proactively work to resolve issues affecting project timelines.

oReport on progress regularly to stakeholders, including updates on project risks, issues, and milestones achieved.

Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer and commissioning engineer

Manage and follow the design brief, detailed design development, and coordination of installation works.

Testing, commissioning & handover/closeout on-site for all relevant building services, to the satisfaction of the Client’s authorized representatives.

Lead the sub-contractor / in house team to deliver the relevant scope on time, within budget and to the required design specifications and protocols

Represent the company in client, supplier and contractor meetings & negotiations.

Liaise with the Client, the Consultants, and sub-contractors, to ensure that the requirements were coordinated correctly and in a timely and professional manner.

Ensure that the works are undertaken under the working drawings and project specifications.

Ensure all works are completed on time to the specified quality and inspected & accepted by the client.

Track subcontractor's implementation schedule and monitor the progress ensuring that deadlines and targets are successfully achieved.

Check and approve sub-contractors progress statements and invoices for payment.

Monitor sub-contractor’s/in house team’s procurement status.

Review Variation Orders and Claims of sub-contractor.

Chair all major construction meetings and issue relevant minutes of meetings.

Organize the Consultant’s supervision team and Coordinate the Consultant’s witnessing of tests.

Prepare and submit progress reports such as Monthly Progress Report (MPR), Monthly Site Progress

Report Monthly Expediting Report, and Quarterly Summary Progress Reports.

Follow-up with site team / sub-contractor for the submission of As-Built drawings and O&M manuals and manage the review and approval of the same by consultants and client’s facility management team.

Test and start-up of electrical equipment (UPS, MV switchgear, MCC Transformers, Power generator, MV Fire fighting pump),

Assistance and Startup of Instrument equipment (DCS, ESD, F&G system, Tank level system )

Making improvements to, and offering advice about, operational procedures

Ensuring that equipment works to its specification

Creating and carrying out test procedures

Project & Engineering Experience

In-depth knowledge of Instrument design drawings,

Hands on experience in handling PLCs and vision system projects with extensive knowledge of automated industrial packaging equipment

Familiar with DCS, ESD and F&G systems for the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industry

Extensive knowledge of industrial control networks, electrical control and relay protection as well as standard application electrical programs

Proposal Engineer Experience

Prepare a bid preparation schedule for submission of bids; identify people responsible for various activities within predetermined timelines, and a common understanding of the scope.

Attend periodic progress review meetings with the proposal preparation team and monitor the progress of each activity. In addition, compile clarifications and requests to the client and share client feedback in terms of scope, additional information etc. with the team.

Coordinate with all the proposal team members to ensure completion of various activities on time, and arrive at solutions for any unresolved issues. And ensure smooth flow of inter-disciplinary inputs through periodic discussions with the discipline engineers.

Follow-up with the procurement department for vendor offers and obtain vendor responses for the technical clarifications raised. Ensure generation of all deliverables by Engineering Disciplines as per Bid requirement (BOQs, Technical Documents to be attached to Bid, costing for various equipment and bulks etc.).Shortlist and identify target vendors for various key equipment/ packages.

Obtain bid tabulations and cost estimates for various equipment and bulks from the procurement department and review the same to arrive at optimum costing. Assist in the review of Construction offers received from various subcontractors and estimate the cost for Project Support which includes Engineering, Procurement Services, Office Facilities, Site Facilities, Travel, Expediting Costs, Inspection Costs, Vendor Rep Costs and other third-party service costs.

Prepare and compile a Risk Register wherein various risk elements of the project are listed and update the risk mitigation strategy for each risk element in consultation with Proposals Manager and discipline engineers.

Review of project schedule and cost estimates to be submitted along with Bid.

Prepare technical and commercial proposals as per client requirements to project execution plans, organization charts job-specific technical write-ups, bank guarantees, commercial and technical qualifications and prepare responses to the client post bid queries.
