Plant Manager Blytheville Valve Manufacturing Plant April 2014 – Oct 2015

I managed a plant which included a 100k sq. ft. Foundry, a 120k sq. ft. Machining and Assembly operation and 100k sq. ft. Distribution Center operation. The plant produces roughly 20 Million pounds of valves annually and operates on a budget of over $20 Million per year. We employ 260 associates across 3 shifts on a 5-day schedule.

I managed (2) 800k sq. ft. buildings and 300 – 1,000 associates. My duties included the warehousing and distribution of all Warner Brothers, Disney, Universal and Paramount films, and for producing the store display models, which were built and filled with the movies and shipped to retailers throughout North America.

Microsoft Distribution

My responsibilities included all distribution activities associated with Microsoft Corporation North American distribution complex. These operations generated in excess of $30 Million in annual sales, with inventory of more than $200 million dollars. The warehouse was 650 k square feet and employed 142 full time employees and as many as 500 temporary employees. Annual productivity gains saw operating expenses reduced by $5 million year over year.

Director of Operations – Microsoft Distribution

Responsible for all distribution activities at the Pleasant Hill site, part of Microsoft Corporation’s North American distribution supply chain. Successfully met KPI’s in Safety, Quality, Cost, Responsiveness and Lean metrics which resulted in the entire operation being purchased by CEVA Logistics.

General Motors Corporation 1985 to 2006

Service and Parts Operations, General Motors North America Memphis, Tennessee

Plant Manager, Memphis Parts Distribution Center 2000 to 2006

Responsibility for a 660,000 sq. foot DC employing 122 UAW staff. The Memphis PDC is the largest distributor of ACDelco branded auto parts in the General Motors supply chain. The Memphis PDC was the single largest distributor of emergency next day auto parts for both the ACDelco and GM dealership parts channels. I had P/L responsibility for the facilities’ $25 million-dollar annual budget.

Plant highlights included winning the General Motors Chairman’s Award for safety performance.

Managed a workforce of 350 employees which operated 16 production lines and 30 single carton operations in General Motors largest distribution operation.

Assistant Superintendent Medium Duty Truck Chassis Department 1997 - 1998

Chassis department assembly operations for the Janesville assembly plants medium duty truck operations, producers of the Chevrolet and GMC Topkick and Kodiak branded vehicles. This assembly operation employed over 100 people and built nearly 250 unique variations of these trucks.

Engineering focused position with the responsibilities for two main areas of vehicle assembly, process quality and supplier / material quality. Focused on improving process assignments to minimize the potential for variation in the assembly process, this included capability studies and process sequences studies to determine the optimum assembly processes.
