Lead DBA 1/2013 – 10/2013

Responsibilities:

BI Architect: Review current DW ETL process and provide assistance for improving current SPEND/MAP/SLA ETL processes implemented using Wherescape RED. Debug MicroStrategy Reports that having performance issues due to physical model design issues. Rebuilt physical models to achieve 20x fold report performance gains.

Created ETL frame work to extract data from corporate EDW SDI data-mart to provide updated info to external corporate customers. Automated the whole process which was not possible before by building PERL script frameworks.

Worked with GHX7 team to re-invent the corporate GHX7 extract ETL process. Rebuilt existing SQL Stored procedures to make the SPs worked fast on Teradata system.

Teradata Production DBA:Worked as Data architect to convert logical models into Teradata physical implementation. EDW ETL Architect: Design and develop corporate ETL framework for Enterprise Claim data warehouse. Built ETL process scripts from scratch. Designed architecture and made project planning for DataMirror CDC solution. Installed IBM’s CDC 6.2 agents on RedHat 5.7 linux production servers. Configured Access server and admin console to capture HMS’s PCF & EC DB2 data store’s daily updated data. Brought CDC solution to production from initial conceptual design.

IBM Optim POC project Lead

Worked with DB2 DBA team to offload 3 years of Claim data into IBM Optim for Federal compliance project. Did initial POC project planning on capacity & setup & installation on RedHat servers. Created PERL script to automate the loading of Flat files into Optim.

Teradata Production DBA

Worked with Data architect to convert logical models into Teradata physical implementation. Created database objects(tables and views) needed for business analyst group users. Database Performance benchmarking on Sun Micro’s mid-range/hpc systems. Measured Teradata database performance on various server lines.
