The input file details trapped import counts, and their distribution counts (CRUD) into the production system.
The framework captured metadata for each source input at a field level, with a back-end validation engine to test the inputs for columns being required, numeric, date, etc.
The framework also included an alert notification system; responsible for delivering alerts (email/sms) when inputs are successful/unsuccessful, and detailed information regarding the inputs (i.e. success counts, invalid file data, etc.).
Also introduced a data warehouse dashboard to help evaluate deltas in the daily, weekly, and monthly inputs.

Additional responsibilities include the development and deployment of SSIS Packages that perform the daily, monthly, and yearly data movement requirements to support the ongoing operations. To achieve this, a new SSIS framework was developed that provided extensive error checking and email notifications of warnings and failures.
Defined a new development environment utilizing Visual Studio 2012, SSDT, and TFS. We are also implementing a deployment process to promote both the database definitions and application code simultaneously from Development to QA to Production.
TapeandMedia.com

This data has proven to be more accurate due to additional costing fields. This effort included both relational modeling to document and evaluate the source data, and dimensional modeling to modify the layout of the warehouse due to additional dimension. Also modified the ETL process that extracts sales order information and build an additional cube.
SeasonalGifts

Implemented an online store, www.theRealOutdoorsman.com that sells almost 5,000 products. A SQL Server 2005 database was developed to maintain manufacturer/product relationships, distributor/inventory relationships, as well as a small data warehouse to help analyze sales trends. SSIS was utilized for the majority of the data movement requirements.
A subsequent store, www.myHalloweenShop.com, was implemented to sell Halloween costumes and decorations. A slightly smaller store, but integration and data movement with the distributor for order processing, inventory management, and shipment was done using XML interfaces.
BP
Database Specialist
Reverse engineered and evaluated three databases, along with their processes, designed to capture data points from all worldwide processing plants. End result focused on the data movement process and method of how the data was gathered and processed. Secondary database tuning review identified several inconsistencies in how SQL Server was configured and the architecture of the data access across databases.
TapeandMedia.com
Sr. Data Warehouse Developer
Modeled, designed and developed two data warehouses: one detailing Sales Order information, the other Invoice information, both covering 5 years of historical data of an online internet business. This effort included both relational modeling to document and evaluate the source data, and dimensional modeling to layout the warehouse. There were also ETL processes developed to extract sales order and invoice data from their accounting system and load it into the warehouse source data and re-process the cubes.
In addition, a second ETL process was developed that extracts shipping data from their accounting system and loads it into SQL Server for access from both shipping locations, ultimately automating their shipping procedures.

All data access was performed through stored procedures.
Converted an existing Access database application that calculated backstop prices for Shell Lubricants into a SQL Server application. Responsibilities included process and data modeling; developing an ETL process to extract pricing data on a monthly basis; and build DTS packages necessary to perform the processing.
Designed and developed the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Stoplight tool. A web-based interface, this tool allows the Product Lifecycle Managers to define hurdle rates for various groupings of products for Shell Lubricants.
The stoplight engine compared the actual performance of products against the hurdle rates. The report allowed the Product Lifecycle Managers to investigate and address performance based on a red/yellow/green (hence stoplight) indicator.
Designed and developed an invoice data mart. The data mart stored a summarized view of financial and volume information for a rolling 24-month period. The data mart supports a number of subsequently developed projects, including the PLM web site, the Product Lifecycle Stoplight tool, the Backstop pricing tool, and their PriceTool.
