Creels looms, twisters, wrappers, tufting, or other textile machines to change style of yarn or to replace exhausted yarn packages: Places yarn packages on spindle of creel, according to supervisor's instructions, color-coded spools, or number on yarn packages. 1. Threads yarn through eyelet plate or ties yarn ends to ends of yarn from preceding package to maintain continuous yarn supply.
2. Cuts yarn ends from knots, using scissors, and discards yarn ends in waste container to prevent entanglement of yarn while moving through creel.
3. Removes old yarn from machines before changing to different size or type of yarn. 4. Cleans dust and lint from creel.
5. May repair yarn breaks in creel.
6. May replace yarn packages or spools when faulty yarn. Twister operator
Work safely and follow all safety procedures.
Communicate well with other operators and support staff. Load raw yarn buggy and push to the appropriate twister. Verify the case label with the specification sheet for that machine Doff according to the doff schedule posted on the machine Remove the remaining package from the bucket and place on buggy for creeling. Tie the creel yarn, using a weavers knot with no tails. Refill the bucket with raw yarn from the raw yarn buggy for that machine Replace empty yarn tubes with replacement packages of yarn Compare every tube lot number to the Specifications Sheet as they are placed in the bucket or creel. Put tube caps on raw yarn packages in the creel where the tube end is rough, blemished or might tangle the yarn.
Repair and restart in a timely manner all breakouts. Keep every position running.
Tag any position that is in need of repair.
Remove yarn from the conveyor and place on a buggy indicated by the Specifications Sheet and/or the supervisor.
