Personal Statement
From January 2009 to Dec. 2023, I have been a single stay at home dad to 4 children. The youngest
child is now almost 18 years old and getting ready to graduate high school, and I’m thinking that it is
finally time to get back into the workforce. While raising my children, during the past 6 years I have
also been a volunteer with a disaster response organization called Team Rubicon. They deploy after
natural disasters to help people during their worse times when their homes are damaged or
destroyed. I have been deployed across the country, including Puerto Rico, Lousiana, and Texas for
hurricane recovery. This included work ranging from logistical support to mucking out houses.
