Manufacturing Engineer / Project Manager Jan 2014 - Jan 2015

Navy Island, Inc.

Process engineering Prototype, mass manufacturing tools. These tools install Millions of high precision micro holes in minutes.

Developed the final production process, tooling for / Navy Island’s Micro-Perforated soundboard.

This product is currently placed exclusively in the top two floors of the new World Trades center NYC.

And will be the exclusive soundboard in the new Apple Computers R&D complex under construction.

January 2014, it took 1.5- 2.5+ hours to produce a sample sheet of this product.

2015, 20-30 minutes per panel... for production. 450% - 500% productive increases.

Machine down time for service, was 1-2 hours. One day for full refit of tooling. 2015, service is now 10-15 minutes. Full refit down time "eliminated." Service down time cut 80% or more.

Machining time to build one critical aspect of the custom machines took 6+ days before 2014.

2014.5 reduced that machine time to less than 8 hours.

New tooling selection changes at end of 2015, and process modifications, reduced it to less than 4 hours.

Personal product design work 1995-2006

oWorked with a dozen vendors to get custom parts made. Local minor, national, international vendors (China to Italy).

oDid it all over again for the most part when production went to Shanghai China. *3D Solids CAD designed needed to offshore.

Allison Transmissions LLC (General Motors Corp) 1979-2009

As a Tool and Die maker in a full service 100+ man tool room, have worked on these classified and commercial projects in the past 20 years.

oPrototype.

oMachining fixtures.

oGauging fixtures.

oAssembly fixtures.

oQuality control.

AAAV, Beach assault vehicle drive train. Developed to be a Shelf-able Technology. This is the US Marine Corp. latest beach assault vehicle.

AAAV is tooling up for production, waiting on Congress funding for full production.

M1-A2 Abrams Tank upgrades program.

LCT Allison, commercial truck transmissions.

WT Allison, commercial and military truck transmission.

HD Allison, commercial and military truck transmission.

M1 electro drive TANK transmission.

Pure research. It was an Army poof of design, concept project.

Tool and Die Maker Journeyman 1989-2009

Worked on and in all aspect of any and all work done in a full service Tool room.

0.005” to 0.00005” was norm.

Process engineering; Emergency repair parts, gages, fixtures.

Process engineering; new design machine parts, gages, fixtures.

Process engineering Prototype parts, military, and commercial automatic transmissions.

Worked in all Print standards, GDT, ISO 9000+, and MIL Spec. Solid models. And back to 1950s prints.

Custom assembly of Detroit Diesel D-149, 800-3500hp V12 V16.

Very low volume, custom units. Marine to Oil field units.

2015 - 2019

Managing my holdings, of 9 properties. Rentals, and commercial properties.

For the last 2 years. Preparing and selling off my properties, down to 2 as of fall of 2019.

2016-2019 Work part time managing a medium size Retail stores outside vendor seasonal gift display stands.

And I treat my health and fitness as a part time job. 12-20 hours a week have been the norm.

I have been enjoying travel in retirement for the last 4 years. But that gets boring.

Now I understand why my self made father, worked until he was 84.5
