Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando, FL 2022-2023 Internal Medicine Residency Program

Effect of Midazolam Weight-Based Infusion on Seizure Recurrence in Adult Patients with Status Epilepticus

• Primary objective is to compare incidence of seizure recurrence in weight-based vs non- weight based dosing of IV Midazolam in patients admitted to ICU for status epilepticus

• Data showed weight-based dosing better in successful weaning of anti-epileptics, burst suppression, and overall decreased total dosage of Midazolam Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA 2017 Department of Pediatric Oncology

Summer Research Program. Pediatric Oncology Student Training Program (POST)

• The Maris Lab identified a mutation in an intron of the lmo1 gene in neuroblastoma patients that increases its expression and an individual’s susceptibility to developing neuroblastoma. The goal of this project was to identify LMO1’s binding partners and shed light on how high ADDYS BODE HERNANDEZ, M.D. PAGE 2

levels of this oncogene lead to the development of neuroblastoma. University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL. 2014-2016

Department of Biology

• This project was to conduct a detailed analysis of Caenorhabditis elegans egg laying behavioral circuit. I used optogenetics to manipulate and observe every cell of the circuit on a living and behaving animal. Used transgenes and mutations to discover and alter molecular signaling events between each cell to determine how the complex activity regulated behavior. University of North Carolina Medical School, Chapel Hill, NC. 2013-2014 Department of Microbiology and Immunology

Student Researcher

• Defined interactions between phosphorelay proteins that regulate expression of ysa gene in Yersinia enterocolitica Ysa type III secretion system responsible for its intracellular survival. Miami Dade College: The Honor’s College, Miami, FL 2011-2013 Department of Natural Science

Student Researcher

• Annotated the genome and identified the origin of replication of Clostridium taeniosporum.

• Used bioinformatics tools such as BLAST search and Geneios Pro., Ori-Finder to identify the origin of replication.
