Stress Analyst

As Butler contractor was tasked, full time, to ANSYS Finite Element Analysis of Airbus A350XWB Linear geared actuation system, pilot controls and Rudder/ Brake. It included linear and nonlinear stress, fatigue, stress corrosion at detailed components and modal and dynamics (frequency response) at system level.

Became focal, leading cost reduction effort of Boeing 787 Pilot Control Modules.

Performed Stress Analysis of linear and non-linear mechanisms, using ANSYS Workbench.

Wrote strength substantiation reports for PDR, CDR and FAA certification. Calculated damage index due to High Level Short Duration (HLSD) loading of electro-mechanical actuation.

UTC (Formerly Goodrich Aerostructures), Chula Vista, CA, 91910 2/2006 to 10/2012

Stress Engineer IV

Structural static strength, fatigue and dynamic (sonic fatigue) analyses of Composite/ Metallic nacelle components, leveraging hand calculation (Mathcad and Excel), and Nastran/ Patran FEA. Supported the completion of C-5 Super Galaxy EBU and pylon, 737 NG inlet cowl and 787 thrust reverser reports.

Achieved business plan of cost and weight reduction through alternate material selection and design simplification.

Completed the strength substantiation reports for the Supplemental Type Certification (STC) of the Boeing 707-300 re-engine kit consisting of: inlet, EBU, thrust reverser, exhaust nozzle, and strut systems per FAR 25 & 33 requirements.
