COVER LETTER
JAMES J. MC FARLAND, M.S., M.D.
I am applying for a Critical Care Intensivist position in Medicine and Surgery. I am Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery, with 2015 subspecialty training in and Board Certification in Surgical Critical Care. Now I practice both Medical and Surgical Critical Care as an Intensivist in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
I am an excellent surgeon who is superiorly prepared to practice as an Intensivist for both Medical and Surgical, Critical Care patients in the ICU. My current practice is as a Critical Care Intensivist for a wide breadth of medical and surgical patients in an ICU. My patients include: internal medicine, pulmonary, cardiology, orthopedics, neurology, infectious disease, trauma, general surgery and cardiovascular surgery. I am a quadruple advantage for an Intensivist position: I do everything that a pulmonologist, an internist and an anesthesiologist does in the ICU, plus I manage surgery patients. I have massive, outstanding and distinguished past clinical experiences caring for all types of Critical Care ICU patients over decades. I am experienced extraordinarily in the ICU care of cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgery patients, including ECMO.
The Critical Care position that I practice is not Acute Care Surgery or Trauma Care Surgery. Those positions involve surgery performed in the operating room. Instead, I practice solely in the ICU, performing bedside operative procedures in the ICU on Medical and Surgical ICU patients who are suffering from all kinds of medical and surgical diseases.
I will deliver to my Critical Care ICU Intensivist position my decades of medical and surgical experiences and my decades of cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon experiences, plus my national clinical patient outcomes, which are the best. During my professional training and my clinical practice, I normally treat the sickest, highest risk, medicine and surgery patients that exist. I will bring to my practice: my knowledge and my experiences from my training in general, vascular and cardiothoracic surgery at 10 World Class hospitals and my teaching experiences with 100 renowned physicians and surgeons. I have over 150,000 hours of clinical and ICU patient experiences and 6,000 major operative procedures which qualify me to do any Critical Care ICU position with outstanding results. I was Director of Telemedicine and Telesurgery (Telehealth) at Ohio State Medical Center, so I will bring the most modern methods of ICU management to my Critical Care, which are worldwide in scope. I will work with the ICU team to decrease morbidities, mortalities and ICU stays for critically ill patients by using my excellent clinical and procedural skills and my modern, evidence-based, diagnostics and treatments. I will increase operational and financial effectiveness in the ICU to meet the highest national standards of quality and affordability. I will produce the best clinical ICU patient outcomes in the nation.
Please contact me for a practice position as an Intensivist in Medical-Surgical ICU Critical Care. My family and I are open to my practicing anywhere in the continental United States. I am available to start work immediately. I will practice, full-time, for decades to come and maintain a long staff tenure. Attached are my CV and my photograph.
Please contact me at 304-***-****, or at my E-mail address of ******@*******.*** as soon as practical.
Thank you.
