Working in the health field in nursing homes during Covid-19 was incredibly stressful, heart-breaking, exhausting. Hiring employees was extremely hard since so many were getting out of the medical field. Thinking creatively was challenging yet rewarding at the same time. Working with the current colleges recruiting new graduates was rewarding. Implementing a new HRIS and onboarding. Had many of the same duties as above being a HR Director.

Transportation Trucking 2/1989-12/2000 Director of Safety & Human Resources

Overseeing all recruiting from office, personnel, leadership roles, company drivers and owner operators. Implemented our own driving school, which created one of the first GPS systems in trucks with highway masters. Embraced new challenges with fuel rates accelerated, innovated one of the first safety driving rewards for drivers. Recruiting at the truck stops was a new concept in the late eighties and early nineties. Lectured on safe driving and teaching the Smith System throughout our company of 500 plus drivers. Along with endorsing and approving all our driver’s daily logs and issues. Managed conflicts, performance evaluations, retention, strategic planning, and budgets. Implemented new policies and procedures and handbooks. I enjoyed the same duties as above as the HR Director.
