• My mailroom clerk duties include intensive screening of all mail and all packages that are received into the correctional facility. All packages are checked for potential contraband and/or illicit materials. Providing postage services for indigent detainees, ensuring that proper postage has been applied to all outgoing packages, trips to the post office. Medical instruments and medication delivered to the facility must be checked and logged in as they are delivered to the correctional facility. All deliveries and packages must be time stamped and dated as they enter the facility. In addition all reading materials must be processed before being distributed to the detainees. I am responsible for reporting all contraband and illicit mail or packages to investigations for processing and review.
