Micheals, West Bountiful, Utah 10-6-2021-10-14-21
Cashier
As a cashier you were either required for the morning shift, afternoon shift, or night shift. Each shift had the same duties to do, but at the same time, we had to make sure each shift was communicated on the events during the day and week.
During the shift we were to remain behind the counters and check out our customers coming through the line, and making sure those items didn’t have the security alarm to make it go off.
If customers place orders online, they then will proceed through the line up to a cashier and tell us that they were here for a package placed online. Then we grab the iPad confirm information have them sign it and then hand the package over.
When returns are brought back to our store, we take them and put them back into the specific bin they go into to be placed back on shelves.
However, if things weren’t busy, we were to come out from behind the counter and tidy up around the area.
You also had to multitask between customers in person and on the phone.

Cashier
For this cashier’s job they wanted us to stand up in front of the registers, this way people could see us and show us we were watching the store.
There were three different places to be at the registers, self-checkout, main registers, and garden area registers.
We needed to scan everything across our security scanners, because of our high-volume priced items.
The area we were assigned had to be kept neat and orderly throughout the shift
If customers ever needed help, we would use the PA and income one of our coworkers to that specific location.
Lagoon, Farmington, Utah 7-23-201*-*-**-**
Ground, Rides
If you were on the grounds crew at Lagoon, which is an amusement park, it depended on how old you were to do their specific jobs.
The morning crew started the day by grabbing all the recycling and putting it in the bin for the morning truck to take it away. After recycling it was tidying up the picnic areas and setting up for the private parties who reserved those specific areas.
After all the morning tasks we have done then we would disburse to our assigned area and collect trash bags. Which would be thrown away in the bin later after they were all gathered up.
At night we would gather into teams to either do a leaf blowing around the park or hose it down for the next day of fun.
The hosing had to be done just right or the manager would make you redo the whole thing over again. One person would do the spraying and the other would lay out the hose so it would go smoothly along the path.
Leaf blowers got the leaves out of the sprayer's way and made sure they were on the vents to be thrown away later.
If you were working on the rides you had to get there early to do your assigned checks, this way the supervisors and maintenance knew the rides were operating safely. But if you were operating a bigger ride your attendant would help with tasks, if they were not underage.
One thing we made clear was the DO NOT OPERATE tag if tasks were being performed.
Once things were checked, and the gates opened your job was to see the safety of people on the ride as well as make sure the ride operated. It was also your job to close your ride and bring the paperwork back to the supervisors.
Kohls, Centerville, Utah 10-14-2015-10-30-16
Cashier/sales floor associate
While staying at the registers you could make sure the clothes around them were folded in an orderly manner or organized around the registers. If customers were at your registers, it was your job to take all security tags off clothes.
Otherwise, you were on the floor folding clothes on racks or reorganizing racks, as well as making sure the dressing rooms were cleaned out. The only thing you needed to listen for was help on registers If needed.
Also answering phone calls for that specific department.
Steak N Shake, Centerville, Utah 6-28-201*-**-*-**
Shake maker/cashier
Multitasking was number one in this job, from making orders to taking them and correcting any mistakes made
As soon as the order was made you were either on the grill making the burgers and fries or on the fountain making shakes and getting drinks ready.
If things were slow dishes needed to be washed and sanitized as well as air-dried.
Closing you oversaw your specific area.
Staples, Seabrook, New Hampshire August 2022- October 2022
cashier
Making sure candy was always stocked and never expired, and drinks were stocked as well. Check out customers and ask if they have coupons or the rewards app.
If customers came for their order, we’d look them up and have the customer sign a paper and then give them the package.
Closing vacuum floors sanitized counters and made sure things were ready for tomorrow.
BJs, Seabrook, New Hampshire March 2023-April 2023

Sign in for the FLA card, go to our register, and then get till from the safe room, and finish signing onto the computer.
Wait for customers to come to us to sign up for membership, renew membership, return items, and ask questions.
The end shift put the till away and returned the FLA card.
Micheals, Seabrook, New Hampshire July 2024-
Cashier
Help customers check out on register or self-checkout, ask them if they are rewards members, and take coupons if they have them.
Sign up customers for rewards or credit cards, rip up wrapping paper for customers, and put items back on shelves.
Do a big sweep at the end of the night and sweep around the registers, restock bags, collect trash, bring sidewalks in, bring in any remaining carts, and lock doors.
