Following strict intake procedures, including a formal meeting with the parent or legal guardian of referred students giving a thorough overview of the program and going over several confidentiality and consent documents, inclusion facilitator formally meets with the participant and what to expect during scheduled services.
•Gathering a broad range of information in various environments and from staff, teachers, etc, observations of the participant in groups, academic or structured times, and one on one sessions initially focusing only on building rapport all combine to gain a general understanding of challenging behaviors they display, functions of these behaviors and what current consequences and behavior strategies are influencing the participant’s learning and social development at an age appropriate level.
•Creating a behavior plan including specific behaviors, disruptive behaviors, the intervention to be implemented, and the intended behavior result.

•Go into client’s homes and interact as well as communicate with child, siblings and family members with respect, child’s progress and behavioral strategies. This includes family participation in behavioral therapy occasionally and effectively teaching family members strategies in addition to one on one work with the student.
