Achievements:
a)Developed several key products for the company, such as multifunctional baby cots, electrical swings, play bar. Especially, the play bar attained design patent.
b)Resolved quality/design issue for an old swing product. The swing product started mass production in December year 2020 and was found product quality unstable on swinging motion stop or slow swinging. No other team members could find out the root cause and the company assigned me to investigate and solve the issues in early April. I used FTA and 5W methods to find out the root cause and solved the problem by end of April, 2021.
My works and capability were highly recognized by the company. Therefore, I was promoted from engineer to senior engineer in early 2022.

a)Developed a key supplier who produces section products of rear bumper protectors. I developed this supplier into OEM level. Therefore, EGR won several OEM customers on this product section.
b)Led developments of aluminum tonnue cover products, which are another key product section to the company. I total developed 21 models of aluminum tonnue cover products.
c)Led developments of decades of side bar products, bull bar products. These products were mainly supplied to Mitsubishi, Toyota, Nissan and Renault.

LEAN production improvement to a supplier

Description:
We carried out LEAN promotions to our supplier to make it reach OEM production level and won long term business from our customer. The supplier is one of our RBP and door sill suppliers. This supplier has been certified with IATF16949. However, before promotion, the supplier's workshop wasn't organized well enough. Product defective rate was high. Output was low. After improvement, all above issues were solved: Materials and semi-products are placed regularly with clear identification. Defective rate drops from 5% to 0.2%. Output increases from 300 sets to 400 sets per day. All these improvements were recognized by the customer. The main works of the promotions included: 1, We partitioned different zones in the workshop for materials and semi-products, applied identification cards to materials, applied FIFO to manage materials. All these measures let the materials' status to be clearly learned and avoided them from mixing up. 2, we re-organized production line lay-out and material flow. This has reduced redundant transportations for both materials and operators. Meanwhile, this has reduced time "muda". Furthermore, this has reduced defective rate caused by redundant transportations. 3, Associated with the causes of defect parts, we re-designed transportation carts with enhanced protection function for materials/semi-products. With enhanced carts, the defective rate drops obviously. 4, We changed the production flow into pulling style, which means the process behind pulls materials from the previous process. In this way, it eliminated waiting time at some processes. 5, Introduced visual management: a) Used more pictures and less words in SOP and quality criteria. This allowed the operators to understand what to do or what requirements on the product by only taking a glance. b) Introduced visual board for production target and output. This has activated the whole production team to meet the target while they were clear on their target and current production situation.
Aluminum tonnue cover series development

Description:
We've developed total 21 models of aluminum tonnue cover product from CAD drawings to actual products since March of 2013. And these 21 aluminum tonnue cover models include OEM version suiting for Mercedes-Benz VS40, OEM version for Ford Ranger.
It was the 1st time for the company to develop this kind of product. There was no similar one-piece aluminum tonnue cover products in market at that time. We started from 3D CAD/drawings. We developed the 1st product model through looking for supplier, inquiring for cost, making porotypes samples, developing tooling, specifying product criteria and testing methods, making OTS samples for testing, making PPAP samples, working out PPAP documents.
We totally developed 21models of aluminum tongue cover. Total purchasing quantities for these tonnue cover reach 3500 sets per year. Total purchasing value is up to US$ 875,000 per year.
