Work Experience

Forklift Operator/Material Handler

GXO Logistics-Tracy, CA

August 2023 to Present

GXO Tracy, currently handles out customer Applied Materials, who produces virtually every new chip and advanced display in the world for their consumers. Currently work in the receiving department where I putaway received material utilizing an order picker and a RF scanner. The standard on amount of material that has to be putaway during a shift is 270 packages, and I have reached up to 350 within 8 hours. Download three 53' trailers full of material per shift utilzing stand up RC (remote control) forklift. Strategically organize the dock floor prior to trucks showing up since floor space is a challenge. Sort materials in specific lanes on floor per different vendor it came from. Achieve a piece count and make sure all material is destined for our location prior to signing bill of ladings. Fast pace work environment, have to get carriers out within 2 hours to refrain from detention charges. Receive on average 300 packages from UPS daily; as member is downloading we are sorting and building pallets and accomplish within an hour.

My job title is Forklift Operator, but since I have showed I can handle more, they utilize me as FLEX and have me receive material with the other material handlers when we need to hit our quota for the shift. Utilize SAP (Systems Applications and Products) to receive items. Sort material onto pallets after processing and placing labels on packages depending on what warehouse and aisle location it is destined for. Frustrate any packages that are not consigned to our location, if it is a short or overage, if it is damaged, and if it is not loaded in the system.

Transport material that cant fit in our warehouse to our 2nd building using a straight truck. Collect documentation for everything that is moved to spare warehouse and create a chain of custody form and collect signature at other end.

Have turnover prior to end of shift with on coming team to bring up any pending hot items that need to be received, if any issues have arrised, and to make sure we are all on the same page if any updated processes have occured.
