Led AS/400 hardware operating system upgrade, multiple software package upgrades and rollouts including Mobius software, GetPaid software, DigiTracc software.

Directed a support team of IBM multinational consultants for multiple software solutions including SRM global implementation, BPCS, DMS, Mobius, GetPaid, and DigiTracc.

Oversaw vendor management and support for AS/400 third-party products, ensuring seamless operations for Unifier Fax Software, DBU, ROBOT, EZPRINT, etc.

UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh, PA Project Leader January 2006 – March 2008

Managed a team of 18 IS professionals directing and assigning projects to 12 Software Developers and 6 Business Analysts.

Developed software solutions on IBM I-Series AS/400 hardware for highly customized software package, MC400, for insurance/healthcare applications.

Administered IBM Rational Portfolio Manager software migration, providing training and support to staff and users.

Managed Care of America, Inc. Pittsburgh, PA IS Manager July 1996 – January 2006

Directed MIS Department comprised of Programmer Analysts, Computer Operators, and Network Administrator. Responsibilities included hiring, performance appraisals, career development, mentoring, motivating, assigning projects and tasks, and project leadership.

Managed IBM I-Series AS/400 hardware and software, including managing and negotiating contracts, overseeing hardware, software, and operating system upgrades, and support.

Developed and supported healthcare applications in IBM’s Genelco software package for handling Third Party Administration of claims.

Integrated EDI ASC X12 standard transaction sets for healthcare claims and eligibility utilizing Sterling Software’s GENTRAN EDI translator, transforming the company from 100% data entry to electronic data interchange (EDI) reliant for Claims.

Managed database migrations from company mergers into the Genelco software system on the AS/400.

FedEx Corporation / RPS Inc. Coraopolis, PA Systems Analyst August 1990 – July 1996

Led a team of software developers, designing and supporting software in COBOL, RPG IV, and CL on IBM AS/400 systems.

Managed large scale EDI project to receive package data electronically, integrating it with billing, package sortation, and reporting systems.

Conducted a major system overhaul to expand the length of package tracking number, affecting nearly every system company-wide.

Supported Lawson financial software package including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable systems.

Developed package routing system that collected and transmitted package data and sent data to multiple AS/400’s nationwide for sorting packages to their destinations, billing, and reporting.
