Bank has no presence in AZ. Overall production in 2024 totals over $10.8m as of 9-30-24, but $7.5mm went to other lenders.
SUMMIT STATE BANK – VP SBA BDO Responsible for production of SBA 7a loans in AZ. In 7 months on the job I funded $4.15mm in loans. After starting, I determined the bank did not want to do business acquisition loans unless well secured by RE.
VELOCITY SBA LENDING – SBA BDO Responsible for production of SBA loans in Arizona for a licensed SBA non-bank lender. Duties include sourcing, marketing and underwriting while working remotely and using my strong communication skills. I funded over $6.5mm in SBA loans in 10 months on the job. After I joined, lender decided they would no longer fund restaurants, start-ups or multi-disbursement loans.
: TEXAS CAPITAL BANK – VP SBA Business Development Responsible for SBA loan production in AZ for $28 BB bank with no presence in AZ. In 16 months, I funded $7.1mm in loans. Production was limited due to bank deciding no loans under $500,000 nor any multiple disbursement loans under $800,000 3 months after joining. COVID-19 shut operations down and in July 2020, the Bank changed focus from being a national SBA lender to just focus on TX. I was part of layoff of 176 people who worked on business outside of TX
METRO PHOENIX BANK – VP SBA Business Development Recruited by bank to jump start C & I lending in the bank utilizing the SBA platform. In 6.5 months submitted 9 loans with 4 of them getting approved for $2.1mm in volume. I tried to get management to adopt new procedures in which production and credit were held accountable for meeting overall lending goals.
RADIUS BANK – VP SBA Business Development Followed department manager from previous employer to new nationwide SBA lender. In 16 months. I funder over $13.0 mm in SBA 7a loans at average rate of PR + 2.55. This bank had no presence in AZ.
The BANCORP – FVP SBA Business Development Recruited to be part of a nationwide lending team to market SBA loans in Arizona. Funded over $11.0 mm in 16 months with no bank presence in AZ.
9/87 – 1/2015 BNC NATIONAL BANK – SVP SBA Lending Manager Recruited to start an SBA loan department for the bank including setting up SBA lending policies & procedures, department guidelines, hiring staff, and purchasing SBA lending software. In 7 years, I funded over $72mm in SBA loans while being a GP lender from 2008 – 2011 and then as a PLP lender from 2012 - 2014. Supervised a staff of five people.
1ST NATIONAL BANK OF ARIZONA –VP SBA Business Development
In 9 months in 2006 I funded over $8.0 million in 7a loans and over $14.0 million in 2007. I averaged PR + 2.0 on SBA 7a loans. I maintained a 92% approval rating and over 80% closure rate on loans submitted to underwriting.
COMERICA BANK / IMPERIAL BANK – VP SBA Business Development
In 6.5 years with the organization, I was instrumental in the bank achieving between a #3 to # 9 overall rankings in 7a loans in Arizona. In this position, I funded over $87 million in SBA while maintaining an 89% approval rating with credit committee and a 76% closure rate.
AMRESCO - INDEPENDENCE FUNDING – VP SBA Business Development
Responsible for all business development, complete underwriting and packaging of SBA 7a loans in Arizona prior to submission of loan package to credit committee in Dallas and to the SBA office in Phoenix. Ranked as the third leading producer and had only seven loans declined by credit in five plus years. Funded over $32.0 million in 5.5 years, yet PLP status was in effect for only the last 2.5 years.
