Work Experience

Quality Control Technician (Aerospace)

Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing Aerospace (FlexTrades Traveling Contractor)-Dickinson, ND February 2024 to November 2024

• Perform in-process inspections throughout the entire cable harness building process. IPC-620 certified. Assigned to VC-25 (747 Air Force One) quality program. Assist with 777, 614, 737 BTT and P-8 Poseidon quality programs. Work parallel to the production flow to perform these in-process inspections in addition to final inspection steps . Buyoff harnesses, inspect crimps and solders on terminations. Inspect wire lengths, wire cuts, anchoring, ID markers, sleeving, bundled to form boards, etc. Verify all connector installations, ensuring a ‘Ready to Ship’ status, and everything in between. Enter data into full and or partial FAI’s for completed bundles. Inspect instructions for technical data and inspection points are provided but should always reference work instructions. Document identified defects through the

“Inspection Defect Action Report” including bundle number, part impacted, condition of the part and what it should look like, and description why it was rejected. FTEs will troubleshoot and take action based on the reports.

• Work with Mfg. Engineers to understand the production processes and flow of each production are. Provide feedback for new hires to improve quality of work or any concerns they may have regarding their work, abilities, or training. Receive the feedback, provide insight to improve the experience for the FTE, and communicate that feedback to managers/supervisors who can work to implement permanent solutions. Update appropriate training aids. Take pictures of discovered issues (for the addition to training materials as things to “watch out for”) and add verbiage/communications to SOPs or work instructions at a higher level of detail. Review with the FTE in the work area, ensure acknowledgment and understanding, and sign off on it. Evaluate current training material and adjust those, when needed. Additional training material created/adjusted includes manuals, handouts, tests, etc. when the need is determined. Speak directly to technicians who are having issues working due to lack of training or production concerns while also working with technician who are not putting effort into their work so they can understand why the lack of effort is occurring. Use Word, Excel, and SOP software (Motive). Work on the shop floor the majority of the time with some time spent in an office (particularly when creating/updating training material). Experience performing training operations in a manufacturing facility in the related department . Have skills and experience in the respective dept at high levels. Have experience in assembly operations, working from SOPs, analyzing blueprints, working from blueprints for assembly operations, and has solid communication skills.
