I worked in the plant and warehouse. I learned the various roles of Receiving and Shipping at the warehouse. I oversaw associates that picked and kitted parts for orders filled for the plant. I updated and created documents for Standard Work, Housekeeping and Skill Matrix. I oversaw the updating of the daily schedule and ensure any changes were communicated. I performed daily audits of the work performed and provided feedback to the associates.
Quality Assurance Technician
Wabash National Corporation - Lafayette, IN June 2008 to April 2018
My role as a Q.A. Tech included but not limited to support to production, auditing Quality System and training associates as needed. I supported production by identifying and documenting the root cause of internal and external nonconformities relating to supplier and workmanship defects. As a result of root cause analysis, I developed and implemented corrective action plans. Performed audits in multiple areas of production. Writing Standard Work Instructions as needed to document processes such as End of Line (EOL) Inspection and procedures for entering data into database software (S A P), was also part of my responsibility. Also, included in my routine are the application of lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement and performing PPAP testing for part verification and functionality. Engineering Document Auditor
Developed the approved Standard Work document for reviewing prints from engineering before they are released to production. I reviewed new and revised assembly prints for accuracy. I examined and cross referenced new customer trailer orders to the sales order documents and communicated any discrepancies to the design engineer before being released for manufacturing. This was important because it affected the Bill of Materials that generated the correct parts for each unit. When needed, I worked with CAD operator to clarify print for easier understanding on production floor.
