DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities:
Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work Process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices
Facilitate a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture Hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment
Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to Identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance
Investigate industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to Determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on Safety initiatives and necessary changes
Coordinate employee safety programs to determine their adequacy including review of short and long-term strategic safety planning and development
Administrating appropriate safe work practices/procedures for the project.
Conducts Weekly Safety Self-Assessments, tracking performance and reporting Trends to Site Management.
Participates in the weekly Area Safety Assessments of the Owner.
Conducting quarterly Safety accidents and Incidents are properly investigated including near-miss incidents, first-aid cases, all recordable cases, chemical spillage incidents, property damage, etc.
Complete and distribute applicable reports.
Chair the weekly meeting with Safety Officers and Supervisors.
Review the Supervisor Safety Logbooks.
Participate in work-site layouts to ensure education the work areas, traffic control, Parking areas, lighting levels, receiving areas, etc. Assure that the location of offices, Shops, maintenance areas, fabrication shops, medical, and sanitation facilities Reflect on safety considerations.
Review the work schedules as they are planned to be aware of the number of Workers working in various areas; anticipate hazards and implement Supporting safety activities.
Ensure new hires are orientated to the Construction, and all required documentation is completed accurately and forwarded to the head office.
