Significantly changed the plant financial situation for more than 30% (from a few year continous loss more than 30% to break even) within one year by adusting management team; implimenting several new policies in production management (adding one more shift production), equipment mentenance, purchasing and logistic; modifying/redesigning manufacturing procedures, toolings, fixtures; strengthening quality inprovment of both plant products and supplier’s products……
Based on lean manufacturing principles (continuns improvement), I and an plant engineer designed a special cutter (a very fine steel wire brush) for CNC lathe to remove a sharp edge on fitting parts, so the deburring procedure was cut off and total cost for producing the parts decreased more than 20% including the labor, comsumable materials, defect rate was decreased by avoiding the collisions between parts during the old deburring procedure. Found a lot of Chinese suppliers of steam turbine with generator, boiler and transformer according to the design requirement and got quotations for the major equipment. The prices are much lower than American and European made with similar quality, it could save several millions dollars for this project.
Worked with other team members for designing system set up of all major equipment including gasifier, steam turbine, generator, boiler and transformer……with their specifications and process data (e.g. pressure, temperature, flow…..)
Found several contractors of control and electrical of design, installations, commissioning for the project and prepared all document of control parameters and specifications for the project.
