•CDG is a design group that primarily does data center designs. I reviewed drawings, one-line diagrams, and specifications for designs of these systems and operations. They had planned for several large projects but none of them materialized.

•At CAT in Fayetteville, AR is a forensics investigations firm. I was responsible for review of design principles and forensics investigations of various projects.

•Bernhard, Fayetteville/Little Rock, AR, is a consulting engineering firm providing mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering design and other services for hospitals and similar facilities for construction and building projects. I was responsible for various projects, including commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, and government jobs. Attending design meetings and QAC meetings as necessary. Oversee production of project designs, drawings, specifications, and calculations. I work with the electrical design team that includes several other electrical engineers and engineering designers, most of whom are not licensed to perform engineering work.

•Electrical forensics engineering work to investigate electrical equipment failures, identify construction defects, and report to insurance and attorney clients. I left this job for a pay increase of about 25% and a promotion to go to a job in Houston.

•Manage electrical engineering projects requiring forensic inspections, evaluations and reporting to various insurance and attorney clients.

2007-2012

Vice President of Electrical Engineering Hensley Engineering

The Hensley Engineering (THE) Group, Albuquerque, NM, $2 million consulting engineering firm providing electrical, mechanical, plumbing and civil engineering and architectural design and consulting services. Both owners died within the first quarter of 2012, the company was dissolved, and I sought a new job. Most engineering designs were completed using AutoCAD software and a few were modeled in Revit. Both owners of this company died within the first quarter of 2012.

•Managing all electrical engineering design of healthcare, commercial, school, government and residential facilities ranging in sizes up to about $100 million in total construction costs

After receiving an offer for a job in Albuquerque, SSR offered me a job in Phoenix but the one in Albuquerque was more attractive with both a pay increase and a promotion.

• Electrical design of hospitals, clinics and healthcare facilities ranging in sizes up to about $500 million in total construction costs. All engineering designs were completed using AutoCAD software and some were modeled in Revit.

2002-2005

Electrical Engineer Spectrum Engineers

Spectrum Engineers in Salt Lake City, UT, was an $8 million consulting engineering firm providing electrical, mechanical, low-voltage technical and acoustical engineering design and consulting. I left this job to go to a job at SSR in Houston that paid 20% more.

•Completed electrical design of hospitals, clinics, other healthcare facilities, office complexes and retail stores with total construction costs up to about $350 million. All engineering designs were completed using AutoCAD software.

•Manage administration of electrical construction for hospitals, medical offices, clinics and other office complexes with total construction costs up to about $100 million

•Electrical design work includes lighting, power distribution, fire alarm and other ancillary electrical designs

This was an electrical construction business in operation for over twenty years, but it was decided to close the business after the death of the principal’s spouse.

•Managed all phases of electrical construction for industrial, commercial and residential service projects, including bidding, planning and labor allocation

BP Chemicals, part of BP-Amoco in Visalia, CA and Charlotte, NC and a multi-million dollars (> $50m) petrochemicals and plastics business making plastic compounds (CA) and synthetic paper (NC). I left this company to pursue buying an electrical contracting business.

•Managed all functions of manufacturing plant, including production, engineering and maintenance, technical and quality control, accounting, human resources, distribution and warehousing at a plant manufacturing synthetic paper with annual sales of about $30 million in North and South America, Southeast Asia, Australia and Europe

•Managed and controlled all expense budgets, P&L and capital expenditures for the plant ranging in size up to a total of about $10 million annually

•Developed and managed safety and safety awareness program for entire facility

•Managed construction project, commissioned and started up a manufacturing facility with a total project construction budget of about $35 million, including construction of new building, railroad sidings, storage facilities and installation of new production equipment. This was my third experience in commissioning and starting-up initial operations of manufacturing plants requiring between 100 – 800 employees.

Mobil Chemicals Corporation, (now ExxonMobil) was a multi-million-dollar plastics business making products for plastic bags, wrap and other packaging materials for consumer and institutional uses. I left MCC to go to work for BP Chemicals with a promotion and higher pay.

•Managed all maintenance functions in a large manufacturing facility operating 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year including training all new maintenance personnel

•Managed construction of new buildings, storage facilities and pneumatic conveying systems for loading and unloading railcars, storing, blending and conveying plastics materials for processing and manufacturing in plastics film plant

•Managed the purchase and processing of all raw materials all quality control and plastics reprocessing personnel and functions for producing films for plastic bags, wrap and other packaging products

•Administered all operations improvement programs resulting in annually recurring savings of about $2 million in large plastics processing facilities

1970 - 1978: Plant Engineering Manager, Sr. Project Engineer, Project Engineer

Union Carbide Corporation (now Dow Chemical, Glad and Prestone) and a multi-million-dollar plastics and antifreeze business manufacturing products for plastic bags and other packaging materials and producing anti-freeze for the consumer and institutional markets. I left UCC to go to work for MCC at much higher pay.

•Managed all electrical engineering projects in a plastics film extrusion operation in a large manufacturing facility operating 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year that included the commissioning and start-up of all equipment in that facility and training of all maintenance personnel for projects that included HVAC upgrades, installing RR unloading facilities and construction of storage silo with loading and unloading facilities for 3 million pounds of raw material

•One of these projects was the design, specification and installation of equipment for a patented operation to for automatically packaging trash bags that reduced normal labor requirements by more than 35% for similar manufacturing operations.

•Managed installation of new blow molding and bottle storage and labeling equipment for 1-gallong plastic containers for anti-freeze products

•Managed all engineering design and equipment specification for a new anti-freeze facility built in NJ to service the East Coast markets

•Managed all maintenance and engineering functions in a liquid chemical storage, filling and packaging operation for anti-freeze products including the training and development of all maintenance and new engineering personnel
