Used Progress OpenEdge 11.7 along with Webspeed to build and maintain their Mortgage Application Express (MAX) and Mortgage Processing Express (MPX) systems. MAX was done using Webspeed via Progress Application Server (PAS). I was on their Product Pricing Engine (PPE) team. I worked closely with other engineers to get these two systems working with a new fees microsystem that they were getting ready to bring on board. I was on a 6 month contract but had to resign early to take care of some personal health issues. I was about 85% finished with my assignment and able to hand it off to my team so that they could continue without any issues.

Used Progress OpenEdge 10.1C - 11.7 to build and maintain their legacy Autosource system which ran on UNIX, HP-UX. This was auto insurance software which provide Total Loss and vehicle evaluatios. Used SQL to run queries for BA’s and .NET teams. Working alongside different development teams I used ASP.NET, Angular, LLM, C#, JavaScript, SQLDocer, Python and MongoDB to replace Progress legacy code as appropriate. Worked with the QA team, Product Owners and the SCRUM Master to meet the needs of the business. There was a joint effort between software engineers from other teams to integrate their changes and use micro-services to replace parts of the legacy system and phase it out in a safe and graceful manner.

I worked independently and with other developers to maintain this legacy system while it was being phased out. Used SQL to run database queries for reporting and analysis. Worked with the .NET and SQL teams to ensure a smooth transition of various web service calls and code phase out. Tracked changes using Team Foundation Server (TFS).

Used Progress Developer Studio OpenEdge (PDSOE) to maintain their Automated Mortgage Process (AMP) system. AMP was a CHUI software system that ran in UNIX. Worked with other engineering teams to get the company TRID compliant. Developed software that allowed AMP to communicate with our different client portals via Tweets/XML files. Tracked projects using Team Foundation Server (TFS). Helped run bi-weekly software engineering meetings and daily SCRUM stand-up meetings. I also worked with ASP.NET, C# and Angular to develop the new replacement system for the Progress legacy system.

I was the software pre-release manager for the global ERP system (Titan). As a manager I completed the Management Development Program which required 1 year of training for certification. Used Progress ABL 11.3 and Progress 4GL to work with business systems analysts and my team of software developers to develop new features and support and maintain a SOX compliant ERP system. Migrated the corporate tax system from an outdated home grown Progress system to use a Progress OOP backend that communicated with third party software (Vertex - OnDemand) via XML parsing and web services. This had a hard savings of $500,000 annually and a soft savings of $2 Million in avoided fines. Integrated Progress software profiling into the ERP system for debugging and performance testing. Also maintained their Python scripts that were called from within their ERP system.

Created Unit Testing and User Acceptance Testing during software development. Designed software for automated data gathering from shop floor machines. Migrated the Quality Control department from FoxPro to Progress RDBMS and developed and maintained a new software suite for them which included replacing manual measurements of parts to talking with OGP machines for automated measurements of multiple parts at a time (roughly $300,000/year savings to company). Developed software to import\export data for external customers using EDI and FTP. Write technical documents and software documentation.

Configured, started, monitored and stopped database services as needed. Rebuild indices as necessary and recompiled source code from code base.
