SAS Server Implementation on 9.2, 9.3 / Upgrade from SAS 9.1 to SAS 9.2:
Successfully installed SAS 9.3 EBI on SUSE Linux 11.x Operating System at the current site. Implemented new Backup utility in SAS 9.3 for taking the Backups.
Proactively completed the SAS upgrade from version 9.1.3 SP4 to 9.2 on IBM AIX 6.1 using SAS migration utility
Migrated Code and Datasets from old Server environments to the new SAS Environments using CEDA and PROC MIGRATE
Worked very closely with UNIX and SAN Hardware teams right from the starting till end of the projects until the migration efforts were successfully achieved
Conducted meetings with business teams on quarterly basis to understand their data needs and forecast the storage by working with the infrastructure UNIX and SAN teams.
Created group based security for users that are migrated into newly built SAS Environment by creating production scripts to get them automated
Moved SAS Developers along with their SAS BASE code to 9.2
Involved in transitioning application migration projects by separating groups within SAS hosted environments between two different hardware setups
Worked closely with Project Manager by targeting to complete in less than 120 days for upgrading SAS application from its existing environment
Involved in promoting SAS / Access Interface to Oracle, Teradata & SQL Servers on the newly build 9.2 setup by re-configuring its SASROOT! host specific files and tested with SAS User community by working with separate groups
Worked very closely with SAS Cary and used Plan file while implementing the new SAS 9.2 installation and achieved success in all SAS components while performing their sub-sequent test analysis both from Server side and SAS Client side by using SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Base in Unix environment
Performed post installation procedures to make sure SASROOT file systems point to the new 9.2 installation by exporting external database client installations
Written UNIX shell scripts to automate certain SAS scripts based on stdout, stderr exit codes.
Customized by implementing SAS Batch scripts to make jobs run via Autosys and in other enviornments via Unix Cron
Perform other day-to-day SAS Administration responsibilities: Assisting with client installations (Base SAS, EG, SAS AMO, InfoMapStudio ), creating metadata users, groups, server definitions, libraries, importing tables from SMC, SAS connect configuration i.e. tcpunix.scr file for remote job submissions.
Placed the disc space (mainly for SAS temp and utilloc), SAS processes alerts in Tivoli monitoring system.
Performed code migrations from Dev to Test and then to Production following approved change control process.
Administer the SAS Web Users activity from SAS Web Admin console in 9.2.
Worked closely with Backup team to understand the Backup strategy for Full and incremental disc backups. Used %OMABKP (sas.servers), Proc metaoperate as well as backup wizard utility available from SAS SMC to backup metadata server.
Provide on Call support to the end users on biweekly basis, troubleshoot their issues by analyzing the appropriate log files mainly ObjectSpawner, Storedprocess, Portal and servlet containter log files. Escalate the issues to SAS
