• At Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, a patient had just received shoulder surgery and was being examined for post-surgery assessment. The patient couldn’t move their arm for axillary x ray, per standard operating procedure. Demonstrated proficiency in positioning patients accurately by angling X-ray tube and positioning patient slightly forward as their arm was already abducted due to sling to obtain high-quality diagnostic image.

• Developed expertise in operating and maintaining X-ray equipment and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Using correct Automatic Exposure Control chambers, manual techniques and exercised ALARA to proficiently provide safety and accurate diagnostic imaging for patients in every exam.

• Strong communication skills and medical term knowledge are required to collaborate effectively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to facilitate timely and accurate diagnoses. This is required in both clinical and current experience at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
