Analysis and assessment of financial and operational audits for countries in the Latin America and Caribbean region and preparation of Review Letters to Heads of UNDP country offices on results of the audits.
Coordination and management of staff/rapporteurs assigned to prepare the minutes of the meeting of the Heads of Audit of the UN Regional Internal Audit Services (RIAS). Responsible for final report of the RIAS meeting.
Chief: NGO/NIM audits Unit, Office of Audit & Investigations – 2000 - 2014
Responsible for the oversight of the global yearly audit exercise. Management of the integrity and content of organizational tracking system (CARDS) covering audit activities, and supervision of audit specialist, audit associate, and consultants (between 7-10 yearly). Main duties are the following:
Management of the timely and efficient completion of the review exercise for all country offices. Preparation of analysis and assessment of NGO/NIM audits, comprising over 1,700 audit reports yearly in 3 languages for 137 country offices with US$2 billion of yearly expenses.
Hiring and deployment of team of consultants for assessment of NIM audit reports resulting in the issuance of 124 review letters to country offices yearly. Preparation of work plans and unit’s budget, prioritize and supervision of a team of audit specialists and consultants, senior audit associate and temporary staff.
Preparation of guidelines, training materials, and conduct webinars in English, Spanish and French.
Preparation of brief notes and assessments for UNDP senior management for discussion with Governments and Country Offices while on official mission.
Team Leader for NIM review mission, Argentina. Conduct of meetings with country office senior staff, Government counterparts, Ministries, Executing Agencies and Government and External audit firm.
