Responsible for supervising the daily activities of the Quality Assurance Department and laboratory. Ensure that department operations and finished products comply. With internal and external standards (Government Regulations, customer specifications, company, SQF Version 9). FDA guidelines for food manufacturers, CFR 21, and SQF Code 9.0 and FSMA. Essential Duties:
• Develop, adhere, and enforce practices regarding GMP’s, food safety and company safety requirements.
• Address all food safety and quality issues immediately.
• Develop, maintain, and strictly enforce Acidified Foods, HACCP and Seafood HACCP policies and programs.
• Maintain and enforce all corrective actions and data documentation related to Acidified Foods, Seafood HACCP and HACCP requirements.
• Maintain and monitor compliance to all FSMA documents, procedures and regulations.
• Develop and maintain production procedures, training and work instructions as they relate to food safety, quality and accurate documentation.
• Emphasize and facilitate effective cross-training in department.
• Work cooperatively with R&D and Production departments to ensure implementation of new products and processes in a manner that is professional and high quality.
• Administer and maintain the internal inspection program for food safety.
• Work directly with regulatory and third-party auditors during inspections
