Location: William J. Clinton Building, Washington, DC Was the sole journeyman electrician for maintenance, repair and installation of all electrical needs for a one million square foot building complex in downtown Washington, DC. Responsible for maintaining, repairing or replacing switchgears, motors, solenoids, fan coil units. Checking all operations, voltages, amperages; replacing bulbs, ballasts or entire lighting units, reconfiguring existing fixtures. Maintenance of, including repairing or replacing electrical panels and breakers; serviced all receptacles and switches and replace or repair as needed; installed, assembled and bent conduit, flex, EMT and schedule 40; Megger testing wiring for resistance.

Inspected and isolated issues, then repaired varied electrical malfunctions using test instruments such as voltmeters, multimeters, continuity testers and ground resistance testers. Planned layouts and wiring for new installations, fabricated electrical parts when necessary; inspected electrical work done by outside contractors; estimated time and materials for electrical projects; did light carpentry work as needed for installations. Installed disconnect switches, metering devices for high voltage applications in switchgears and transformers; did troubleshooting and repair of auto door opener/closers. Proficient with electrical distribution system for entire building complex. Competent in fire alarms, alarm systems, emergency power supplies and lighting controls. I work well independently, as well as on a team. Available to work all hours of overtime, including overnights for power shut-downs.
