UA Local 396 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters-Youngstown Ohio Sept. 2020 - April 2024

Through the union I worked for various different contractors on multiple construction jobs big and small. My first job with the union was with McCarls out at the Lordstown Battery Plant, after McCarls got kicked out I went back to the battery plant for another big company, Sylvan. While with Sylvan I had the opportunity to serve as Foreman over a crew of 13-16 men installing compressed air lines. After Sylvan I got to go to a much smaller job for a company out of southern Ohio BMC. With BMC I was on a 2 man crew installing trench drains and gas lines and a whole host of other equipment needed in and around a garage that services snow plows for ODOT. When that job was complete I worked for York Mahoning for a brief time doing HVAC work (it was not for me). Thankfully from York Mahoning I was placed with Whistler working on plumbing and med-gas for the new Salem Hospital.

I was asked if I would like to fill in for Mr. Cartwright Jones’s assistant Joanne while she was on maternity leave, I happily obliged. Answering and returning calls, letters, e-mails to clients and preparing legal documents were some of my duties. Getting court notices and other documents pertaining to clients cases out to the right address was also some of the work I performed.
